I wonder, why can't you sleep in your car in the first place. What kind of freedom do we live in?

Oh I so can feel for you! I have been wanting to do the Vanlife thing here in the states for a while. I have been downsizing and getting rid of so many things that I have collected over 50 years time. I had been looking for a SUV and finally after about 10 months found one that I could afford with lower mileage and was all wheel drive. I had it less than two weeks and it did this to me. I was in the turn lane of a busy road to the airport. After towing I was told I needed a new engine! Believe me I shed many tears and it’s is in the garage now too being fixed! 😢 It’s just a sit back though! One of the many lessons I learn from this journey called life. I’m so grateful I wasn’t in the middle of nowhere…because I was leaving for Ohio that night with my 81 year old mom.! Blessings to you and yours!

As a mechanic and mot tester my opinion would be buy a Toyota Hiace not the biggest van but they are bulletproof we he ave a fleet of 8 that come in everyone of them over 300, 000 miles with nothing major went wrong just usual servicing

This is usually a charging issue. If you're charging the camera with a USB port, or a USB hub the camera may fail to charge properly. This results in you having a solid red light on your camera and it won't power on until you soft reset the camera (hold down the side mode button for 10 seconds

I’ve got exactly the same model of vivaro that I use for my Gardening business up here in the Peak District. A few weeks back after a period of heavy rain I had all the lights on the instrument binnacle and ‘Engine fault do not drive’ . I decided to chance it and took it steady to home as I was soaked and cold. After a bit of Googling on a Vivaro forum it was recommended to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and leave it if for approx an hour. This I did and when I reconnected it the issue had gone away and I have had no issues since. The day the problem appeared I had had the lights, wipers, heater, radio on I think this had put a strain on the battery. Hope you get yours sorted. I hope to convert my van when I buy a new one and give it a graceful retirement full of camping trips. Great Videos followed you from the start 👍🏻

Ive been in my van since march 2022.its not technically a camper but has a full-size bed, toilet and night heater.everything else i just wing but something that really bugs me is trying to find places to park up, out the way, away from ppl.ive lost count of the number of times police have been phoned to do a welfare check on me because the public see the van & half an hour after im settled in my bed, the police arrive.yes its good that they do a job BUT for goodness sake, wait until the van has been sitting for an extensive amount of time, at least 24 hours, THEN phone police 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m that committed to watching all your videos that I’ve had to sit down and watch this one while Amy does all the tidying up.

Hey Shaun, great little video again mate. Taking your van to Halfords was your first mistake, and I must say that sandwich looked amazing so much so I’m cooking one the same as I watch this video, hopefully your van will be repaired soon and it won’t cost you to much mate. Keep up the good work 👍

Invest in a diesel heater matey. They come with a separate fuel tank. But you can plum into the vans main tank easily. They are really good on diesel and keep the whole van at a good temp

I killed my transit with condensation running down the windscreen into the electrics . Warning lights came on like Christmas lights and buggerd the ecu and blew the engine up . Cut down on condensation by having plenty of ventilation, cook with lids on pans while the side door is open . And keep wet clothes in a sealed container until they can be dried outdoors. I now have a sprinter and have left the bulkhead in to stop the condensation reaching the windscreen and dripping down the dash . It sort of works .

Sorry about the van, its good to see that you stay positive even when things are negative. Loved the drone shots, hopefully you van will be fixed and ready to go soon.

Great video 👍. Also I’m guessing the alternator has died and possibly damaged the battery at the same time. Common signs of dying alternator are multiple warning lights and electrics acting up and with the battery only being at 10 volts. Also use a good local garage. Halfords garages aren’t very good, good local garage would of diagnosed it right first time 👌😃

Subject car electrics. You may have water ingress. Also check the tightness of your battery terminals, a loose negative can light up the dashboard. Remove both ( make sure you have your radio code ) clean, add a light coat of Vaseline and reposition terminals. Ensure they are really tight

Hi ya, don’t know if you’ve sorted the dash lights but thought I’d let you know vivaros are known for there electrical issues one of which is battery in the floor . Try cleaning up all the nuts and bolts on the battery and any others you can get to that are part of the battery system. Hope this helps. Enjoy 👍

Vivaro shares widgets with Renault who's electronics are casual to say the least, if you have been driving extensively in heavy rain, moisture will have messed with the electronics, I would recommend getting an ECU scan and reset at a local garage, but they normally fix themselves after a hot dry spell.

Ohhhh noooo! Sad to see you’ve broken down when it took its time to start my partner Lee said it could need new glow plugs. Hope you get it sorted soon, I’ll be gutted for you if you d gone to all the trouble of doing the van out and then it’s fully broken. Fingers crossed. 😊

I know you said the garage already checked it, but it all points to a bad battery (probably a bad cell inside) made worse by cold weather, highly possible the cause for the dash lights too. If you're engine cut out while driving, replace fuel filter (as it might have water in the bottom) this could also be the reason for the engine dash light. I had a Renault Traffic basically the same van, with this issue. Love your videos!
