Working for Walmart, way back in the 1990's when Sam Walton was still running the show (I met him when I was helping to open the first of 4 stores I helped set up in 4 years), was so stressful that it destroyed my physical and mental health permanently.... and for the pittance of $5 per hour, the minimum wage at the time, and $8 per hour when I left after 5 years of Hell. It is unconscionable that they are still getting away with the way they treat their "associates". This HUGE victory for Amazon workers gives me hope that I might live to see things change at long last.

I hope that this is only the beginning for more unions to form across corporate America and ultimately surpass the previous union membership among employees in every sector. United workers always gain and have nothing to loose but their chains.

Poetry that someone with the last name Smalls, has the heart of a giant.

The degree to which these big corporations go to fight unions demonstrates just how much they want to be able to mistreat their workers If they were already treating their employees fairly, they wouldn't care if there was a union.

Chris has a title too, he’s the founder and president of the ALU (Amazon Labor Union).

This is what happens when a suburban frat boy meets a black working man who is actually creating effective change in our country.

Thanks Robert!

Bezos, Musk, and others are why we need unions in America. To many times workers have been abused by big business and unions level the playing field. On top of that we need to make Bezos, Musk, and others to start paying their fair share in taxes as well as Amazon, Apple, Tesla, and other major corporations. They forget that the greatest time of growth in America is when taxes werre high on the 1% and corporations and union membership was high. Another thing we need to do is close all, and I mean ALL of the tax loopholes the 1% and coporations use to hide money in offshore accounts and the like.

It’s time to hold our labor leaders accountable! 🛑
Chris Smalls, the celebrated president of the Amazon Labor Union, has not faced a vote from his own union members in over three years. His leadership, while praised, has been marked by silence on critical issues facing non-union injured workers. 📣
For over 8 years, I and many others have pleaded with unions like the Teamsters, and labor figures like Chris Smalls, Thom Hartman, Robert Reich, and progressive politicians such as Sen. Bernie Sanders and President Biden to address the erosion of workers' rights. Yet, our cries go unheard. 🤐
Rev. Barber is often likened to MLK, yet he, along with other prominent voices, remains silent on the federal human rights issues affecting injured workers. Meanwhile, Chris Smalls is spotlighted as a champion for workers, yet fails to speak on these critical issues. 🕵‍♂
Why does Chris get propped up while voices like mine, advocating for what Sen. Sanders highlighted in 2015, are ignored? It's time to call out the hypocrisy and demand real action and accountability from our so-called labor champions. 💔
Our progressive leaders and unions must prioritize all workers, union and non-union alike, and truly stand up for the human rights of every worker in America. ✊
#LaborRights #UnionAccountability #WorkersRights #HumanRights #ChrisSmalls #Teamsters #ProgressiveLeadership #BernieSanders #RevBarber #WorkersUnite
It's been 8 years of SILENCE from the folks who should amplify our voices.
REAL LABOR REVOLUTIONS? DO NOT LEAVE THE INJURED WORKERS BEHIND. THIS UNION MOVEMENT has lost its way when they prop folks up for being FIRED. Yet injured retirees are told to be quiet as folks like CHRIS SMALLS are silent and use injured workers' grief to sell more unionism, while not representing AMERICAN INJURED WORKERS! We call foul.
When America's labor voices fail to speak up about the deal or grand bargain between the slave and his master? Then we have lost or way folks.
SILENCE MAKES FOLKS COMPLICIT IN THE CLASS WAR ON LABOR!
NATIONAL WORK COMP COMMISSION, is that really too hard for our labor voices to say today?

This was the best news I have heard in months and months and months. It surpasses by an order of magnitude being launched into Earth orbit to sightsee

Warehouses the size of 14 football fields? Continuous monitoring of workers’ activities? Workers disconnected from society? I could be wrong but haven’t similar so-called “fulfillment centers” also been known as “gulags”? What kind of cynicism for humanity and the planet does Bezos have? Yes, people who purchase through Amazon need to know these things! We CAN make other choices, as Christian Smalls just demonstrated!

This man should illustrate how stupid unionizing around unskilled labor is. Brilliant Robert Reich, absolutely brilliant.
