Hotel Update!! I realized I didn't show the hotel. The first span of the basement block is up and we've been waiting on a permit for a while now. Hopefully that comes in this week and we will start rocking and rolling ASAP. The crews are ready, just need the go ahead. That might include another visit from some characters that have helped a lot in the past! As soon as the permit is in, I'll post a big update just about the hotel. We're getting close!!

Brent, l own and live in a small miners cottage circa 1865 in Australia. I have done a lot of repairs / restoration in the many years that l have lived here with my 3 kids, and am proud of what l have achieved, but the fact that you are doing the same to an entire town blows my mind. You are an inspiration and an absolute legend. You will forever be a part of the history of Cerro Gordo in the future, for preserving this amazing town.👍

many death valley regulars were worried what would happen when Cerro Gordo was sold/ that Brent has not only taken on this project but also makes these videos to show us so much more than we would ever see .. we really could not have asked for a better outcome. Eventually it will be a developed resort but so much history will remain and all these videos will serve as such a great historical reference... fantastic.

This to me is like a great book. Once I realize how good the book is I start to worry about the end, I just don't want it to end. That's how much these videos mean to me..

Brent really is a special person. How many people would move from a tropical, flat location to this? He is so full of positive energy and adventure.

Brent...I first started watching your videos 2+ yrs ago...when you first got the place!! Im in awe. I am currently rebuilding my parents 3, 000 sf home and it is daunting. It was in complete disrepair, and now I am getting it to a point where I am proud of it. I GET IT. The diary, the introspection, disheartening moments, and elation. I'm there pal....great mD respect for you!!!

Seems to me like you're a lot more happy and positive now. For a while, naturally, being alone for so long up there, that the influx of people was a source of discomfort. But as you got used to it and began to embrace it, more so now it seems it's became a positive aspect. Everyone is really embracing the evolution of Cerro Gordo and what you can really do and achieve with the place. I'm sure by the end of your time there it will become just as big of the part of the story as its past is. Haven't missed a single video and enjoyed every one but I'm super excited for you and the direction the town is going. We're not only witnessing the change and evolution of the Town, but also one of its most important figures, Brent.

You're such a true inspiration to me. All I have wanted for the past two years is to move to middle-of-nowhere California, and help Brent in his adventure.
Maybe it's just me, but im more than happy living in the middle of nowhere and living rustic and off of the land.

Chris did a stellar job filming you! Quite a MTV Crib’s vibe. Injected some freshness into it. I’m a millennial that misses that show! Last thing, awww Beretta had adorable babies! 🥰

Man you have accomplished so much. I was a miner in my younger days. And absolutely love our mining heritage, and ghost towns. You are so lucky to be living my dream, but it takes a lot of work, and you have put the work in. toiling to maintain Cerro Gordo, and restoring things as you go!
This old miner’s hat is off to you. God Bless. &Thanks Gary

Brent. You and your volenteers have done a great job bringimg back and restoring many of the old buildings to their period look via recyvled materisls and the like. You've turned a "this was a town" into a "this is a town". I encourage you to keep bringing back select buildings of interest based on old photographs and such. You are truly saving a town that was on the brink of dissapearing forever. You've made it a fun place for vilenteers and visitors, and of course the animals. I've been enjoying your videos since almost inception, and am amazed at how much you and your helpers have achieved. You just keep adding more interesting historical things to see. Love it!

I can tell this is a labour of love for you Brent. The details you put into making the building original as much as possible. What a beautiful video of what you, Scotty and other volunteers have done .!! to fix up the old buildings to its original glory. You have all accomplished so much in a short period of time. 2 years has already gone by. That is a short period of time in our life time. We'll done. !!! Can't wait to see what you and the volunteers do
