J is the only character I understand the most, she always tries to be the best among others with her loyalty, her character reflects a hard worker and professional, that's why I'm so obsessed with J. Unfortunately, in the end J is made helpless and alone in the final episode.

Best design out of the main trio, she’s the only character who hates N, her first scene is literally her stepping on someone, the obsessive corpo loyalist trope is a unique trait that results in funny moments and memorable quotable dialogue, she’s unapologetically mean, she HAD the setup for one of the most interesting arcs in the show, she isn’t over marketed like N, Uzi, V, and Cyn were, she’s one of the only characters in the show that didn’t rely on purposefully cringe or self aware humor, her voice is heavenly, her cute moments stand out because of how rare they are, she’s the true underdog of the show, she’s the best character for anyone who is a masochist, she’s the most grounded character in the show as everyone else is an idiot or a psychopath and therefore more relatable, confidence is attractive, and her determination is admirable which only makes the viewer root for her more.

I like J because of her dialogue, comedy and some other stuff. She said a lot of interesting stuff such as saying that effective drones were cloned more which was probably very helpful to theorists. I also think she has the best design out of the disassembly drones and i really like that but im not the biggest J fan so im not sure if that is the reason why people like her so much (it probably isn't) but thats why i like her

J functions as a good straight man to the rest of the erratic cast. She is one of the only characters that takes themselves somewhat seriously, and her hard exterior, makes her moments of vulnerability more interesting.
She has the corporate suck up personality which is fun ro watch.
J also gives other members of the cast shit for all the crap they pull, which with how annoying the main cast can be sometimes, is quite cathartic.

Plus underdog.

- Shara Kirby's voice acting is top tier and i love her voice
- She had the potential to be the most interesting character in the show, whether she was a villain the whole way through or a redeemed hero

- She's a tragic character that deserved way better

To add on to what people have said already about J being popular with the masochistic peeps (cue 'id just love the kinda woman who'd straight up kill me' decent number of the fandom headcanon's J as being strongly 'into' humans (and possibly even 'submissive' to them), based purely on her interactions with them in the series....and hence, the ultimate drone for shipping with human characters (cue the peak Jessa ship fanart😂)

I still liked J before episode 8, but I honestly think my favorite version of her was in the finale. It just showed so much about her character, even if a lot of salty fans didn’t realize it. Also, she was super badass that episode, and I’m a sucker for a badass character.

Tbh, I was meh towards J until two things happened.
1) I kinda really started thinking about her character in terms of potential arcs or events that one could reasonably speculate happened off screen. The culmination of these reflections kind of evolved into the first fanfic idea I’ve decided to humor in actual years.

And 2) the ‘Brazilian J’ fanart by Liokumaa. Like disbelieve it if you want, but I don’t even mean that in a downbad/simp way, it just made me consider that while she’s presented as kind of a stereotypical corporate villain archetype with I would assume intentionally few empathetic qualities because the show barely had time to tell the story it did, much less flesh out side characters, she could have potential to be very cute and endearing in different conditions.

Also I disagree with everyone saying she has the best design out of all the characters. I kinda give that to V, although J and N are very close in terms of aesthetic merit, and the whole trio just looks cool at the end of the day. And really, I don’t think there’s a design in the show that I outright don’t like. It nailed the aesthetic it was after really well imo.

But that’s just me…
