I can relate to being too available. Several years ago I killed the relationship of my longtime friend that became single when I was single. One thing I remember that my gf said to me was that I always knew the right words to say. When we first met, I wasn't trying to impress her and I wasn't trying to make her laugh. I just said what was exactly on my mind and I wasn't intimidated by who she was, and it was infectious to hear her laughing at the little things I find humourous. I guess if what I said was too convoluted, I would agree that making a girl laugh works, as well as showing your wide range of emotions. To do so requires listening and willing to give to that other person your trust. I was so much on the verge of ending my life before I met her because of the demons I was struggling with, and it was to the point where I didn't trust anyone. If I was able to open up, you can too.
