Aligning the RF for the AM bands. Grundig Satellit 2100 restoration part 4 #PCBWay#

Показать описание
This radio has a lot of alignment requirements, and I started with the lower bands, namely LW, MW, SW1 and SW2. The procedure is quite repetitive, but vital to ensure correct dial alignment and the best sensitivity possible.
Some cabinet cleaning is also done, so we're getting there.
Enjoy the video.

Manuel, your cinematography is getting better, you commented that it’s getting easier with your new shooting process it flows seamlessly and looking better, the on-screen tuning information works well too. However I miss the handmade Chapstick tuning tools.

Fairly straigth foward :)
So I started diging into my CIT K24 signal generator and I'm starting to regret I even pluged it in to the mains. Alot of cold solder joints and someone wired the B+ to a 12au7 control grid... that cant be right :) of course there is no fuse! Current limiting starts to make sense also. Filament voltages reads 6.7, I think I should try to tame that. The schematic says wire the 6.3v to pins 4 and 5 which sounds correct but also has a plate marked as pin 5! The transformer has no markings, gray wires are recieving mains voltage, green wires are tied together in a terminal strip? I believe thats why the powertransformer shakes the chassis... I need to tread carefully on this one. I'll try not to burn down the house :)

Hi Manuel. I watched this and your previous videos about this little Grundig with interest. I have always considered transistor radios to be soulless things - the transistors don’t even glow when they’re working! However this is an interesting, sophisticated and rewarding radio to restore and I’m looking forward to the next video! German and other European radios are hard to find in Australia but I have been looking around to see what I can find.
Are there any quality Japanese radios that you think would be worth considering?
Thanks again for yet another entertaining video.

I have the 2000 and the 2100. (original) restored.. Do you have in your country also 9 KHz IF on AM like here in West Europe? Is there an USA AM IF version with 12 KHz or more? Like to have more bandwidth on AM and SW, because we have here much stations with 12 KHz bandwidth.
