All amateur tweakers love alignments, and I'm no exception. This Grundig Satellit 3400 is probably a little off peak condition, so we'll adjust the RF circuits with appropriate alignment to get it right on target. Firstly, I'll do the LW, MW, K1 and K2 sections, and see how we get on.

In order not to damage the coil or core, I heat the wax a little with a hairdryer and only then twist it.

Strange how coincidences occur. After watching your series on this radio one came up for sale at a local pawn shop in South Africa. They wanted the equivalent of 45 UK pounds, which I thought was a bit expensive. It also had a few broken switches. I'm a real amateur compared to you - your very descriptive videos put me off buying the one I saw. :-p

Hey, for a newbie like me still trying to understand rectification, alignment seems to be a nightmare unless you know what your doing. Any idea why after they are factory aligned, that so much work is needed after repair or service to realign.? ..Great topic..Ed..uk..😀
