Compressed (Zipped) Folders Error - Characters Cannot Be Used

Are you getting an error message that reads, " . . . cannot be compressed because it includes characters that cannot be used in a compressed folder, such as . You should rename this file or directory. "?

I got this error while trying to .zip a folder containing .WAV files, so that I could send the files to a mixing engineer to mix my song. The problematic files were samples that I had downloaded from Splice. Please let me know if this helps you! :)
