This animation shows the difference in the size of the Earth and the Sun, how they compare together, and the space between them.

This kind of stuff always blows my mind. It's crazy to see how small Earth is and then realize how small you are compared to Earth. We're beyond tiny.

A good comparison is if earth were the size of a marble (around 1cm) then the sun would be about 1m in diameter, and they would be about 1km away from each other!!

The scale is not really a mistake, it's just so you can see things more clearly. If it were to scale, the Earth would be invisible, and the sun would be tiny.

The Sun and Moon are different sizes and different distances from Earth. They also do 2 very different things...
With that being said the 2 of them show themselves every 24 hrs like clock work and appear to be the same size...

Fun Fact: It would take around 12, 500 trips around the Earth. To equal ONE trip to the sun LMFAOO.

Which would mean we would need a vehicle that could can travel the earth's equator 35 times a day for 365 days ... to travel to the earth.
