Whenever i listen to spy stations or some of the weird stuff u can find on shortwave it really makes me feel this creepy sense of solitude, hearing the static going on in the background and knowing that barely anyone might be listening to these signals or even catch them when they broadcast out into the ether which is radiowaves is quite an eery thought

bro, random radio transmissions for me are scarier than fuckin horror movies. just imagining a dark, ungerground bunker, dimly lit, with just a radio transmitter doing its thing.. somehow thats scary af

First one is called "The Japanese Slot Machine XSL" for Japanese fisheries.

The second one the data bursts use to be common in the early to mis 1980s the 3rd is VOLMET

Some were I think ham operators broadcasting data packets. Others can be anything from a local water management system on remote. Number station one was interesting 👍

The one reciting the military phonetic alphabet is non classified SW transmission possibly to an aircraft from a tower, or an Air Force Base ATIS (Automated Terminal Information Service) it's used to give pilots a "low down" on a potential landing site. Similar to a civilian ATIS, the military uses phonetic coding and recitation for more "discrete" terms.
