I tried, and learned a lot about myself. I realised I am not disciplined enough without external pressure, so I went back to 9-5. Not saying that I won’t consider doing business again, but I know that many people think they easily can, when in fact they cannot unless they change themselves first. And that change can happen even in the usual job. One doesn’t have to quit. The change in self will lead to a better and freer life.

I absolutely love his advice. I feel inspired to stop always going the safe route. I'll always be sensible, but life is short and some gambles and adventure are calling me. I can't stay scared anymore in any area of life. Thank you so much for this video.

💯 agreed with this man. Don't put all of your years in the same company.

Yep, at 54 I can honestly say don't waste your life on a career. Worked so many long hours making money but time and your youth are something you can't get back.

The one perk of being in your own business is that you can work & set your own time schedule. I have been self-employed in the medical field seeing patients for 32 years. I have a general schedule that the office follows, but if I need to make a md appointment for myself or dad, I don't book patients or maybe take a half day. I can take vacation when I want & for however long I want. Overhead bills need to be paid no matter what, so you still have to put in the hours & keep your staff paid. I was able to do this bc I generally work with only 1 or 2 people in my practice. Flexibility is the biggest perk of being self-employed. You also get all of the headaches & you need to be able to say no to certain patients or jobs if you feel it is too involved or the patient/customer is a major headache. Know when to refer to another specialist or bigger company. Don't feel you need to take on every patient or project that comes along.

Sound like he was afraid of risk. Suffered to get a steady paycheck, and now he regrets it.

Bless you Sir.. it's a majorly good thing that you put all that effort into making sure your family were well provided for.. yes it could have worked out good being self employed but being self employed actually does not work out for most companies that try it, even if they keep trying and work smart, statistically it can go very wrong so even though you maybe regret not trying it i salute you for making sure your family were ok

i was raised in a very poor family of self employed parents and it caused a huge amount of stress and conflict when money was tight despite the hard work my parents put in

it's a majorly good thing that you had steady good income coming in for your family

I dont think staying in one career is a bad thing. I think it's a wonderful thing.

But when you work for yourself, it might be hard to turn things down when you know the money is there.

I am married with someone who had his own company. It was the first focus in his live. Custumers first!

A lot of migraine.

Just want to share that you also can become a workaholic by almost never be free in your mind.
