i learned how to knit years ago and i’ve only been crocheting for a few months but it’s so much easier and faster and more versatile

crochet is so much easier and less stressful imo
I've been knitting for longer but i still can't make anything decent but after a few weeks of crochet i was pumping out projects

I learned to knit first. Now that I can knit and crochet, I'd say that crochet is *faster* but knitting is easier, at least for me. Knitting has two stitches--knit and purl. I crochet more, but I tend to turn to knitting for certain things (like ribbing on sweaters) because it's just easier for me that way. I hope that it gets easier for you and please know that everybody's first knitting project is kind of wonky!

Knitting is harder to pick up, but ends up much gaster and easier later on. I used to crochet a lot more, lately I've been loving how smooth knitting is.

I think knitting is easier. I think you need to try using bigger yarn and needles. You are using very a very small size which is harder for beginners. I would also recommend wood needles, the metal needles are more slippery and will cause more dropped stickers for beginners. Also just something I’ve found is to sit back and let your arms move openly. You are leaning on the table and your needles are hitting the table just try to make yourself comfortable. Hope you have fun!

Crochet is much easier, at least for me, however I think knit items like sweaters look more aesthetically pleasing to me.

I only crochet, my one attempt at knitting went down like a lead balloon, but I felt a lot better about it when a yarn dyer I met who only knits was like “crochet is so much harder!” I think it varies from person to person

I have been both knitting and crocheting for a while now, and I think crochet is much easier, but I love the look and drape of knit.

I've also been crocheting for 20 years. I tried knitting, and made a cowl scarf. I agree with you that crochet is easier. It's my understanding that there are only 2 stitches in knit, but I feel like the needles are harder. With crochet, it's faster and the hook is way easier, but there are so many stitches to learn. To me, that's a pro because I get bored if there's no challenge, and I can easily just go back to a simpler stitch and motor through a project if I want to just chill. I hope you can find a technique that makes knit easier for you. 🖤

I'm 53 and last year thought I'd give knitting a go after 40+ years.... I watched a couple of casting on/off and just did a basic knitting sample... I'm currently half way through a pride scarf for my I'm really quite proud of myself 😊

Crochet all day! I like knitting, but I'm so much faster at crochet. The fear of dropping a stitch slows me down. Each one has its benefits and I think it's awesome that you're learning to knit. 🎉

I find knitting to be much easier. It's visually less complicated and the needles create a more robust structure so keeping tension is much simpler and I can leave off and pick back up quicker.
I find crochet to be way more fiddly and difficult

I am a proficient knitter and find it easier/faster than crocheting. Crocheting involves moving your right wrist a lot more than knitting, so I can understand why people get RSI from a lot of crochet. I hate doing straight knitting though - I find stocking stitch so much faster to do. Knitting also uses about 1/3 less yarn.

Learned knitting first and crocheting seems so easy, especially not having to worry about dropped stitches!!

Crochet is easier and faster but knitting can be so relaxing and rewarding

I would recommend using circular knitting needles and the long tail cast on. The long tail cast on creates a row of stitches, kind of like the foundation crochet, and is easy to get good tension, so it's perfect for beginners! I promise it will be easier

In my personal opinion it really depends on which you started with. People who I know learned knitting first think crochet is harder, but most people who started with crochet find knitting difficult. But each has its own rhythm, and once you learn the tempo, it becomes easier.

I prefer crochet but I love the sound knitting needles make
