Thank you soo much I have tried and tried to get Minecraft on a school computer FOREVER but putting it on a USB drive is even better because I can take it anywhere and not worry about storage or the schools servers.

Please know that you have to launch the game through the batch file or it will save the files to your computer and not the USB drive.

The Minecraft launcher boots up but there is no version to play on. Do you need to start it up first before I put it on the school computer?

Say I wanted to play with fabric mods (which is possible with the Vanilla launcher, I do it all the time), would I need the Java runtime installed on the computer, drive, neither, or both?

I tired this in the middle of a snowstorm and got mad that it didn't work. I tired again the next day and it took 10 min and it works. You need to do alternative for exe file. It doesn't matter if ot says 7/8. Thx this video helped

my minecraft.exe wont open saying ive used the newer launcher before(trying to use this usb as something for school). is it possible for this to work on the newer launcher or is there a way to fix the issue?
