On 1 December every year, people around the world mark World Aids Day to raise awareness of HIV and AIDs. It started in 1988 to show support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses. The theme this year was 'Know Your Status'. Encouraging people to get tested is a really important part of the fight against HIV/AIDs, to ensure that people living with HIV can start taking the right medication and prevent spreading the virus further.
