Guarantee that it's some of the best taste too. Just an old couple caring for the community together. That's so precious

Older Japanese (in their 70s or older) running family business cannot and do not stay idle! Working keeps them active, young as well as supplement their pension. It is very admirable to see!

At that point they do it to keep themselves busy and keep themselves healthy both physically and mentally. It’s not about turning a profit.

The fact they don't want to go viral and have their business start booming again, means they're not greedy and genuinely do it because they enjoy feeding their community..❤❤❤

Running around buying a snack with just one coin is the typical 60s childhood story, glad the kids are experiencing that.

Places like this make me cry, because the peeps serving there are always the most wholesome and respectable people

This is peak heartwarming, I hope they know how much their efforts must mean to the community and especially to those children. Bless these two wherever they are.

The clip of those two cooking side by side was so sweet. I just get melted by elderly people who are sweet natured as it seems they are. 😢

Thank you for respecting their wishes
Other foreigners would not do the same for some digital likes
Their love for their community and deal for kids is heartwarming

That's so lovely of the elderly couple to serve their community and look after the kids too. So wholesome and tight knit.

They love the food they make and they love the people they make it for, and I love to see it being respected by a real one

I wish we had more of that attitude in the west; people doing what they love, not driven by greed or pushed to the edge by an economy that wrings every last penny out of us. Japan isn't perfect, but we could learn a thing or two from them for sure.

This really reminds me of the time I stayed in Warszawa, Poland for a while. I went to visit a big market in the outskirts that caught my eye. It had a big banner with only cyrillic letters. Everything they sold was import from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, etc. There was this little old lady with a plastic bag full with fresh homemade chebureks and kwas in paper cups, selling a combi deal for one zloty... that was about 20 cents! Those chebureks were humongous and plenty to serve as a full meal for dinner hahaha. I talked with her for a while in broken Polish and Russian, apperantly she moved from Belarus to Poland quite recently to live with her children and she tried to earn some extra cash to support her family during her old days, and in the meanwhile helping others in the community to serve cheap food to whoever needs it. She took pride in her cooking, I told her I enjoyed it and she told me how to make them for myself for my family in the Netherlands. I'm always surprised how friendly people are, no matter what city or town you visit, I wish I could visit more often :-)

There's a Japanese guy who owns a small taiyaki shop close to where I live. It's pretty cheap yet delicious. His shop has been featured in news articles before and a lot of companies had offered to franchise, but he refused as he is already happy to run his shop as a small family business. That story really warms my heart.
