He created a replica of Asgard from memory.

He really did care about Asgard.

The "Ride of the Valkyries" was the perfect theme for him. A classic piece for a classic Loki. Pure brilliance.

Notice that through all of that, Classic Loki didn't let Alioth destroy Asgard. This time, Asgard was not destroyed. The monster never had a chance to devour a tower, destroy any buildings, or lay siege to its walls. This time, Asgard stands pristine.

In my opinion, classic Loki is the continuation of our redeemed Loki from the beginning of Infinity War. So with Classic Loki's ultimate sacrifice, this was truly Loki's most glorious hour...

A Loki always dies at the end but it's always a heroic death. It's his Glorious Purpose.

Classic Loki would have been so proud of TVA Loki for saving the multiverse

He maybe even faked the thunderbolts as a homage for his brother

What breaks my heart and why I bonded so quickly to classic Loki is he followed MCU Infinity Saga's Loki to a tee until the end. This has every chance to literally be our original Loki doing a final redemption and saving his soul far earlier then when Thanos killed/could have killed him. It's like I'm seeing the exact same soul no variance die again.

I love to think the thunder and lightning during this scene is a sign that his brother Thor was with him whilst he distracted the Alioth and casted a projection of Asgard, his true home. I like to think it was at least a cool little nod to Thor because if you notice the lightning strikes only start appearing when Loki starts creating Asgard. Thor could’ve been distracting the Alioth helping his brother with lightning. Just a thought.

My favorite part is when the illusion finally collapses and Classic Loki comes face to face with Alioth, he's terrified. You can even hear his, "Oh" in complete dread. Yet he doesn't flee and stands right in front of the monster he's been running from for ages.

I like to think he pulled the same trick and disguised himself as the helmet, but if he did die a heroic death then that would be okay too

The way he says “Go!” at 0:20 with how it echoes and everything just sounds so godlike

Ride of the Valkyries is an iconic classical piece written by Wagner. It is a tune nearly anyone can recognize to this day, despite the level or lack of musical experience you have. If you listen to Classic Loki's theme, it's more or less shoved down your throat that it is Ride of the Valkyries. In Norse mythology, the valkyrie worked for Odin and chose who lived and who died in battle. CL is choosing to sacrifice his life for the lives of the other two, and hopefully many more.

The triumphant rising brass used in this theme are in stark contrast to much of the shows' music where it is dark, ominous, mysterious, and generally downward pushing, representing his ascension, redemption and the clarity he has gained in who he really is. He sacrifices himself for the memory of Asgard and the future of other Asgardians. The actual four bar phrase that the Valkyrie theme is recognized in is essentially two bars of minor triads (rep. sadness, selfishness, evil, negativity) that transition into major triads (rep. happiness, selflessness, good, positivity). Only 1 note changes and the rest of the triad is the same- it is still the same Loki, but it shows through the music how Classic Loki elevated and lifted himself to become a hero.

In the scene, the composer made the Valkyrie theme clear and confident maybe even bordering on arrogant at first as he confronted Alioth. Every phrase ended with an upward note- always rising. Until he started to weaken and falter and it ended going downward. Eventually he rises from his knees but he is clearly weakened and exhausted and the valkyrie theme reflects that by being softer and more mild, but again returns with the triumphant version of ending "upward". He laughs not because he is insane or maniacal, but because even though he is about to die, he know he won not only this battle, but his life character arc. Alioth overwhelms him and the valkyrie theme we have now clearly linked to his spirit fades away as the main Loki music themes overpower his and resume control of the show.

At this one moment no Loki has ever risen higher, he was the villain we all hated in our childhood and became the hero we will miss in our adulthood
