For the casual work boot category try Nicks Handmade Boots. They are pricey upon first look. Once you have then in hand, you realize that they are a bargain. Once you break them in, you have an heirloom. Mind you, these boots can do real work. My favorite boot is the Officer, in brown chromexel, toe cap, and a 430 minilug sole. As a person that always purchased "budget" footwear as part of a frugal living lifestyle, my pair of Nicks converted me to a person that will splurge/invest in high quality (material, fit, and craftsmanship) footwear going forward when needed.

Chelsea, chukka, and hiking boots are a hit with the right outfits. Always go with good year welted. Costs more but worth it in the long run.

I align with Ashley’s perspective on seeing shoes as an investment . I absolutely love shoes, but my cash flow is limited, so some of us are slowly building our wardrobe. I recommend brands like the following: meermin, Paul Evans, carmina etc. I just got some red wings and loving them, but breaking them it’s taking a minute😢😂

I mean I appreciate the advice BUT I have had a pair of Timberland boots for over 5 years and they cost me $80 and they're still going strong and look great, I use them very often on hikes.

I feel like dark olive is a great starter color for boots as it’s extremely versatile

I have been wearing combat boots almost exclusively for the last 5 to 6 years. Some of the best boots ive seen are the vintage army surplus leather boots. You can get them for like 50 bucks. They usually have good year welt. They are as good as my 400 $ pair of cowboy boots. Some European combat boots look rugged and sleek. They work well with almost every outfit

For suede boots in the slush and cold i snoseal them. Yuu loose the fuzzyness but get the waxed flesh look. It looks really sharp

Don't know if you've seen the guy's video that recommends dark olive green over black and brown, but the way that color looks with all the paired colors of clothing he shows is VERY convincing of his logic. Not limiting at all! Dark for sure, though, as normal olive falls into where Ashley was saying.

My wife likes my boots and how long I've had them. I've had my Iron Rangers longer than I've known her, and there is something cool and masculine about having something that long that still performs well.

I've got a cheap $50-ish pair of faux leather moc toe boots from Kohl's that have held up for well over 6 years at this point with very little wear. I rock them every fall and winter, casually, but still holding up just fine. I'm going to upgrade to real leather at some point, but in my opinion there is no need to start there if you are on a budget and just plan to wear them casually.

I don't own any of the boots mentioned here. I own tactical boots which I USED to wear for work and still do when doing chores. Other than that, the only boots I own are Western boots. I'm not a cowboy, but I am a Texan. All my boots are excellent quality and aren't meant for work, except for one pair. Every pair is black, so they will go with everything I own. They are of a variety of styles, but are all snip and round toe types. I hate square toed anything, so they won't be in my closet. I was surprised to see that Western boots weren't on the list. When I'm dressed nice and wearing my boots, I often get compliments on them.

Thankyou. My opinions really needed a re-boot.

i like your videos and the way you describe outfits and style, but i have a request; you seem to make tips for tall skinny & big guys . yet you never had anything for the smallest dudes out there so maybe in the next videos you can make something for us 5' - 5'4 guys ? it would be awesome.

Hi love the content ! I am a fan of zip up boots myself… very clean and sleek look . I feel every Instagram mens fashion influencer owns a pair of Chelsea boots in every color to match their skinny jeans …that look is done to death!

Timberland makes a very stylish and under $200 REAL leather boot called the Earthkeepers Original 6inch. The leather is sourced from a tannery rated Gold or Silver by the Leather Working Group. Glued soles can be resoled, there is no such thing as repairing either sole, they are replaced.
