If there’s three things that Coop has taught me when it comes to my gym, it’s to get things off the floor and hang it up with storage, buy more than one type of Olympic bar, and probably most importantly to actually start taking pride in my home gym again.

The thing I like to use the slingshot for is overcoming the mental hurdle of pressing a new weight. It lets you feel how it will be when you unrack and part of the way down. So it’s like dipping your toes in.

If you want to mimic the belt squat with a functional trainer you can use a dip belt rather than having to buy that contraption.

Cheap magnetic tractor hitch pins are best because you can clip stuff to them. I use pulleys for a ton of cable exercises and clipping to my hitch pins gives me a lot of fast positions for the pulley.

I bought a pair of the Mad Spotters and they are FANTASTIC. I decided to give up barbell bench press due to aging shoulders and these holders allow me to keep doing fairly heavy dumbbell bench press. Worth every penny I spent.

I can’t believe coop thought the versa grips looked stupid!!! I absolute LOVE my versa grips worth every single penny.

Another thing slingshot is great for is focusing on triceps. If you do 1 bench day and 1 arm day, it can be a good way to get some nice motion in the shoulder while mostly being a tricep exercise.

The Tib Bar Guy Slant Stack. I use the stacks for deficit dead lifts and calf raises, and the slant board is fantastic. I love that everything locks together. I loved the stack so much that I bought a second to give me even more versatility.

Versa grips have really helped me recover from elbow tendonitis. Definitely worth looking at.

70 bucks for those spotter things is outrages I bet it cost them 5 dollars to make

i got my mad spotters on sale for $40 and ended up hurting myself with it after missing a heavy rerack. I've also tried dropping the dumbells with it and it just felt awkward. The long metal rods just hits the floor at an angle first before letting go of the weight. It's like having Wolverine do a dumbbell press with his claws out and then his claws scratching the floor when dropping the weights. Mad Spotters are a quality product but I ended up getting a power rack with their own dumbbell stand attachment

Mad Spotters were the game changer for me. I have shoulder pain when doing the regular barbell press. I can press the same amount of weight of dumbbell as of barbell due to the shoulder discomfort. But without the Mad Spotters, I felt like I always waste more energy on loading the dumbbells into position than actually pressing them, and sometime failed to get up after the last rep.

One thing regarding the Squat Harnesses: all of the newer ones can be adjusted to fit any weight stack and will allow much deeper range of motion. They also work with trap bars for hands-free squats and deadlifts. Just fyi!

I work overseas, we use chains at our gym... however we just tie a loop with some 550 cord... for the ammount you need to tie the chains up its pennies compared to one of those things.

Cheaper version than both easy loader chain and hammock strap is a climbing daisy chain. Less than $15 and designed to hold while climbing.

I thought I got scammed back in 2017 when I bought Versa grips from a coworker for 60 bucks…they still work, greatest investment

Got excited for a minute thinking maybe this was finally going to be the new Rogue functional trainer review. They say good things come to those who wait so we will all keep on waiting!
