This is one out of a two-part video. This video examines an approach to managing operations and the supply chain that is typically referred to as ‘lean’. Lean management is a method of operations and supply chain planning and control and an approach to improving the processes within.

Lean Management aims to meet demand instantaneously, with perfect quality, eliminate waste and run the operations and supply chain at low cost. This video will also discuss the causes of waste within operations and supply chains. As so often in lean philosophy, Japanese terms are often used to describe core ideas. The terms muda, mura, and muri are Japanese words conveying three causes of waste that should be reduced or eliminated. Look out for these terms within the video.
