College senior here. Surge protectors are a must-have. Trash cans, depends on your university (I had to buy a trashcan for my dorm). Also consider a shower caddy if you use a lot of skincare and haircare products. Also consider a rolling laundry basket instead of a regular one because you're going to hate dragging a full basket to the laundry room. Hope this helps.🙂

“Then you buy a power bank to have enough energy to follow Gohar ”. That was smooth.

Colleges should tell you what your dorms already have so you don't buy unnecessary things

Five best items from a recent grad
5: quality shower caddy
4: surge protector
3: universal wall plug (think anker)
2: a ten foot phone cable (the beds are tall)
1: a small tray kr bag that hangs on the edge of your bed for your phone glasses and water bottle (you dont always have a nights stand)

Student here. That really depends on a dorm. The one I was in (South Korea) had only furniture and a mattress, that's it. No trash can, so you either buy it or go with bags, also don't have a curtain, heck, or even a pillow. Probably the best thing you can do is when you are moving in the dorm, book a hotel for a night, visit the dorm, think of what you need there right now, come back to the hotel, stay the night while also planning/ordering these stuff and then next day go get them, unpack and done.

The TV in my dorm was invaluable, the whiteboard was absolutely useless. A steamer or iron are required, it was impossible to keep my clothes from wrinkling without them. My dorm did not come with a trash can, but did have some extra furniture.

Gohar is is great, but you’re better off asking Housing & Residency about this stuff.

Iron is better than a steamer. Steamers are so overrated, iron is easier to use too and work better

Underrated HDMI cable to connect your laptop to your tv

you cant use steamer to iron formal clothing or even semi-formal, an iron gives it a way more solid shape and it looks way better

Here’s some things I’d recommend getting: desk lamp, shoe rack (if u have more than one pair of shoes), water filter which you can keep in your mini fridge, headphones/ear plugs and an eye mask for if your roommate is working while you’re trying to sleep. (Also, absolutely bring a tv, you’ll regret not having it)

Honestly from personal experience it’s way better to have separate trash cans if you have other roommates. Eliminates any conflict about who’s responsible for taking it out
