This is very true. It's something I see in the Emmy awards. Now a days they dont usually get the reward because they did a good job. It's because of how many fans they generate.
People dont realize how important it is to be recognized for talent. Rewarding someone who doesnt do a good job generates like what Dano just said here. And if someone who works hard is not recognized, it can leave them feeling like their work is meaningless. Which is also sad.
