Buffett started as a retail investor. Investing in what he called cigarette butts. Companies that are barely alive but still has one last puff.

This guy doesn't understand that Warren just wants the company to keep doing its thing. He isn't there calling shots

Total BS, Buffet never "traded" stocks. He always invests for the long term just like any retail investor can. He also doesnt interfer with management even if he has a controlling share. He wouldnt buy the conpany if he didnt think managenent was making the right decisions.

As a retail investor, your purpose is to find companies with a good trajectory on a discount. That is value investing. Price is what you pay, value is what you get. Buffett can transform a company with that much capital. If you keep buying undervalued stocks with good earnings prospects, so will you in a few decades. Value investing takes decades, but you are almost guaranteed becoming wealthy.

Buffet literally creates the value. That is why AAPL is ALWAYS. A steal at or below 150$

You have to think about true value in stocks. Everything else is just movement. Once you learn that, taking the L is not so hard on a trade by trade basis.

You forgot to say that reason why Buffett is so wealthy is because he been investing since he was 16. Value investing comes from literally spending decades in the market, he has been always reinvesting. And most of his wealth came after his 65th birthday.. so those of you wanna get rich quick think again that patience is key

Biggest possition in W.Buffet's portfolio is AAPL. Are you suggesting that he is involved in APPLE business management?

This isn’t true at all. He started out selling and buying companies like retail traders do. Now he owns companies through private equity firms. That isn’t trading. That’s investment banking.

Retail investors will mostly get burnt picking individual stocks. It's better to just hold index. On a very long term basis, index will outperform individual company. Case in point Sears, or many others which went up and then bankrupt.

You're not a retail investor anymore you're an institutional investor... you are worth millions...

Sounds incorrect. Buffet himself has stated that he invests not in the company, but in the management. So in a position like Apple, he invested in Jobs and Cook and managers, and sits back. He doesn’t actively involve himself in the management of companies he invests in all the time. He gets reports and that’s about it. Berkshire Hathaway is where he has active involvement but he doesn’t get involve in the day to day running of the positions he holds through them. He says all of this openly in his talks. Investing, sitting back and reading reports are things ANY small scale investor can do.

But how did he get to his billions? Not from trading.

Even if you can control the company, what make you think that you capable of controling them? It's about competent is it, not just having control
