Warren Buffett explains why he considers S&P 500 Index Fund to be the best investment for the majority of people. In fact, most people who are paid to deliver higher returns than the indexes (mutual fund managers, financial advisors etc.), can't outperform the stock market.

The question goes: “Why have you advised your wife to invest in index funds after your death rather than Berkshire Hathaway? I believe Munger has counseled his offspring to quote, ‘Not be so dumb as to sell.’”
From Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting. (2017)

Warren E. Buffett is an American long-term investor, philanthropist, business tycoon, and the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is considered one of the most successful investors in the world and has a net worth of over 100 billion dollars. Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He developed an interest in business and investing in his youth and made truly incredible stock market returns over his career.

80% stocks 20% cash. I plan to take advantage of the s&p 500 as leading indicators predict above 10% rise by this year, my only issue is how to properly allocate a large $5m stock/bond portfolio for substantial gains at minimum risk of inflation.

My portfolio doesn’t just cater to dividend stocks. I hold $VFIAX (S&P 500 index fund) in my Roth IRA and $VTI (Total Stock Market ETF) in my taxable brokerage account. Two of my largest holdings. The individual dividend stock positions all complement the index holdings.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I recently sold a house in Portland, and I'm considering investing the proceeds in stocks. I know it's a wonderful time to buy, but is this the right moment? When will I fully recover? I'm honestly simply perplexed right now about how other folks in the same market are making over $450, 000 in gains in a matter of months.

I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?

Consider investing in the S&P 500 index as America is steadfastly striving to maintain its dominant position in the market. The renowned investors Buffet and Munger have established themselves as legends in this regard.

Everything about these two is just worth emulating! Folks really need to watch this. I’m 65, finally retired at 60. I have 35% of my capital invstments in an IRA, 25% in index funds, and the balance spread across other investment accts. I receive income from rental property too. Zero debt. Everything is working well.

The stock market rally still appears to be in the midst of a normal pullback. I just sold my home in the Boca Grande area and I’m looking to remunerate a lump sum into the stock market before stocks rebound, is this a good time to buy or no?

I really saw the potential of the stock market by reading Berkshire's annual letters. I recently sold my $674k apartment in the Bel Air area and I'm hoping to throw it into the stock market. I just don't want to lose everything. I've heard of investors making over $400k profit in this current sinking market, and I'm looking for ideas on how to earn similar profits.

There’s more and more of a concern that incoming data is revealing that the Fed might be a little bit behind the curve than maybe they expected heading into this year, ” said Bipan Rai, North America head of FX strategy at CIBC Capital Markets. In my portfoliio, I'm noticing more red than green. How are other people in this market raking in over $350k gains within months

I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio of $450k dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

As an investing enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. I do have about $70k amount of capital to start up but I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to approach to help me make decent returns

Roughly £120k in my portfolio are in tech/TSLA stocks, can I get an advice on any other stocks that I can acquire to diversify my reserve across multiple markets while creating a comprehensive portfolio allocation that balances my concerns of risk aversion and returns that meet yearly inflation.

The S&P 500, if one sticks with it, outpaces inflation by many percentage points. I personally don't care about the inflation. I just want my money to keep outgrowing the inflation rate. That is why I'm looking for companies now to put in $80k for a start. Just don't know how to proceed

Warren Buffett has mastered what patience looks like. He has stuck to the markets, having a long term view on the markets. This is what I'm struggling to do, trying to learn how to not react to market news about inflation and all. I have currently set aside about $253k to put in the market now that prices are down. Any ideas?

My portfolio has good companies, however it has been stalling since last year. I have approximately $600k stagnant in my reserve that needs growth. How do i mitigate this volatile market?

Is now the right moment to make a bitcoin investment? I am aware that everyone says that equities are now discounted, but how long will it take for us to recover? There are, of course, ways to move around in the present market, but the typical individual cannot use these methods. Would it be a better idea for me to put my money in other places instead?

Over the last-week, invest0rs have become more focused on rising real yields, or those adjusted for inflation. I'm none-theless considering weatherr to put $400k in my stock portfolio. What is the great-est approach to profit from the market?
