Why Navia’s Story is an ABSOLUTE Masterpiece | Genshin Impact Lore

In this video, I discuss why Navia's story is absolutely a masterpiece. Between Navia Story Quest and Fontaine Archon Quests, the storytelling of the game feels massively improved. And to top it all off, Navia makes the lore of the game and character research way more enjoyable! If this is how the story of the game is becoming, I cannot wait for future characters and the upcoming events of Fontaine and Natlan later this year! A little bit of lore, and a little bit of small theory~!

I hope you enjoy this video! Thank you for watching!

Melus & Silver were Callas' last protection towards Navia. That's how it links to the whole general plot of Navia's SQ1.
That picture was Navia's youth. The decision she had to make in regards to Colter is the start of a reality she will need to face soon. To receive that from her people is a message to Navia: "It's fine. We will be here with you, at the very least. We accepted your past, so please believe in your future. Because we do."

and that's the setup for Navia's character development post SQ1.

They did her Justice in the gameplay too! Glad I got her!

Fontaine has just been next-level storytelling for Genshin. Every story they have told has just hit the right way, and that even includes Roses and Muskets. It really gives me great hope for what will happen in future releases.

Navia is a fictional character who feels "human" for me... She feels alive & also so related :')❤

She really deserves her title as the "Helm of the Radiant Rose"

When she broke down at Neuvillette in act2 that's when I instantly fall in love with her... Melus and silver were her safety net now she doesn't have that anymore..

At first I was kind of annoyed by her constant crying and self-pity. But I think only after Melus and Silvers death I really understood her character. She needs and wants to be a strong person, but is always confronted with new gruesome situations, letting her feel dejected and helpless. Of course it would make someone cry. But her whole character is about overcoming these struggles, and not letting your life be determined by these external circumstances. It's about being the person you want to be, no matter what life throws at you, taking your destiny in your own hands. And I couldn't agree more: that's truly inspiring.

This video was amazing. I love how you thought about all the details and wanted to understand how the character feels. Keep on the good work.❤

And i am really waiting for you to play neuvillette story quest. In my opinion that is the best story quest genshin ever done.

I know there's this joke that she should have been anemo because of this collective agreement that all to be anemo a character needs a dead special person in their lives (which is very false) but I think Navia is a good representation for the people that have had a lot of loses- there's this point they reach where staying sad becomes bad and they react by doing similar things to Navia where there's the constant effort to remember the good things both for oneself and others, they value those good memories so much that protecting anyone from experiencing that same level of grief becomes a life goal
Qiqi does this too and that's why I love her so much, she might struggle with interaction a lot more than Navia but you know that she still cares.

I enjoyed watching the video, Island! Navia is a resilient character, it's quite a feat that I got attached to this character in such a short span of time. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts regarding Navia and her story.

When I played the Navia portion of the archon quest I said to myself, "Melus and Silver are Teppei done right." First, MHY gave both characters a bit of personality besides, "I wanna be the best! Waaah!" (e.g., humor and apparently magical food -dispensing suits and hats). More importantly, we saw how they cared for Navia and she, in turn, cared for them. We were able to put ourselves in her shoes & feel her grief at their passing (stupid story characters!) because we witnessed Navia's reactions and feelings. They did that a bit with Dunrazhad (sp) in the Sumeru quest. It's really cool to see them realize this and grow in story-telling.

I agree completely that their passing made Navia into a stronger person (though I'd argue she was always that; she just had never had to act as one). The VA sold the entire Poisson incident so well. Everyone talks about the Furina portion of this quest (which was also terrific). I'm glad to see someone spotlighting the Navia bits of it.

IMO, the reason why we emphatize with Navia so much (most people atleast) is not neccessarily because of her misfortunes (with Callas, Merlus and Silver) but rather, that we were present, or atleast there was someone there to help her move forward. We were there during her most vulnerable moments, and it was because of our direct actions that we were capable of helping her. Similarly with Melus and Silver, they appeared as ghost/oceanids in one of her most critical moments and saved her just in time, they were there until the end for their demoiselle. In other words, with all of Navia's struggles, what makes her a strong and beautiful character is the fact that she is not alone and never will be alone, which is also thank to us the players.

The mentor character dying so that the MC can become a stronger character is a trope that dates back to the original Star Wars movie (and possibly beyond) so Navia becoming stronger after Melus & Silver's death is not surprising in itself.

I have a thought experiment for you all:
So remember when it was said that Vision holders are candidates for ascension to godhood or something like that? Now imagine someone like Kirara as a god

I love the people in the comments bitching about Navia being a cry baby and displaying moments of self pity even though these are probably the same idiots that complained about nearly 3 years of women characters having 0 complexity and emotions and substance to them.

Ya'll are hilarious, and I am calling you out unabashedly.
