Kicking off Version 4.3 is the first Geo character in literally 2 years: Navia! We're gonna be analyzing her moveset and gameplay to see if she can pull Geo out of obscurity after being considered the worst element for almost the entirety of Genshin Impact's lifespan.

She didn't saved geo but atleast she saved herself

But seriously her kit shows how much geo can be improved, let's hope chiori can do that

Although Navia is very strong, I was hoping she’d actually improve the Crystallize reaction, rather than just benefitting from it. It feels as though, like Zhongli, she’s an incredible Geo character not because of but in spite of her element.

I think Navia is less of a savior and more of a step in the right direction. She’s the first and only geo character who does anything of importance with crystallize, and her crystallize gameplay promotes element diverse teams to aid in creating shards which most other geo characters have not done since most if not all of them only matter as geo units in Mono Geo up until now.
Also, I don’t think anyone put soo much pressure on a single character to save an entire element in the game when nothing in the game so far has supported such an idea. Hopefully Chiori can follow in the step that Navia made and provide a better future for geo stuff. I’m a geo fan and it kinda hurts seeing how bad it is in terms of elemental reactions which is the core mechanics of the gameplay.

Geo should react with anemo, call it "sand storm" reaction, react with hydro to make mud, and react with Pyro to make lava, geo reactions should fill in their own niche by providing debuffs to enemies, for example mud can slow down enemies or something

Didn't really rework crystallize. It's just a gimmick in her kit to get ammo which makes you feel that crystallize is worth it.
Saving Geo needs to rework the reaction so that crystallized shields do something else than give paper thin shields.

It’s kinda like when Raiden was released during her time, where she brought more attention to her element (they didn’t make the element better as a whole, they just happened to be good and that element)

I find her so strong with Albedo, the fact that he can generate crystallise shards without taking away the elements feels so good to me, without adding that : strong sub dps, geo resonance for bonus damage and geo shred.
(Oh and he is also really good to place her axe on other characters such as Freminet in a Freminet/Albedo/Furina/Kuki team, but it mainly works because my Furina is C2)

I wasn't expecting to love Navia as much as I do, honestly! Her kit is so so so fun to play. Originally I wasn't planning on pulling b/c im not a geo person, but I accidentally pulled her axe going for mistsplitter (which, thankfully, I still got), plus I'm guaranteed. I think the universe is trying to tell me something

Her weapon is so fucking cool, I'm ready to drop money for it just to complete the aesthetic alone; she pulls off other greatsword weapons just fine but this really feels like a need

I feel like as time goes on, Geo characters should establish their new identity by manipulating the crystallize reaction into new inventive ways—I feel like this can be a cool compromise between making Geo more useful in a game where reactions are everything and keeping the element’s core identity inert & solitary as pre-established.

Navia has shown that by making Crystalize reactions catalyze unique gimmicks, Geo can become pretty fun and compete as an element. Imagine Geo characters with unique mechanics like:

- Granting a coordinated attack when under a crystalize shield

- One that can heal characters when crystalize shards are picked up

- One that makes crystalize shields stack their duration, types, and strength with multiple crystalize reactions

- Allows crystalize shards to explode like dendro cores, dealing AoE Geo damage to perpetuate more crystalize reactions

Of course maybe they could rework crystalize itself to be more exciting, and the thought of Geo as an element being too reliant on their characters can rub some people the wrong way, but imo the thought of unique crystalize modifiers being tied to characters could make the element excel in niches and team archetypes we’ve never seen before.

It's more like she saved herself from Geo

Her ascention passive is basically Hoyo screaming at you to not use Mono Geo

The most interesting thing about Navia that is currently her problem but could end up being an advantage is that she doesn't want to stay on field nearly as long as most on-fielders. Right now few can comfortably fit with that, either they spend too much or too little time on-field, or they don't want to be played with geo. Ninguang and Dehya would actually be perfect, except for the problem that they just doesn't do enough damage to justify a teamslot. Right now the best option is to either battery Xiangling with Bennett, or stay on her longer than you really want to. Hopefully in the future we get the pair for her that will let her use the field time she wants but not force her to use more.

I dont think she saves geo... She saved herself... To me personally, I loved playing her because of her own power and playstyle and not because of geo element...

Navia didn't save geo but she herself is amazing, she didn't buff geo but her set did.

Honestly think she may have a weird synergy with Albedo, he can trigger the crystalize reactions while Navia is off-field and act as a battery while taking minimal field time to place his skill while adding a good amount of dmg to boot (keep in mind this is coming from someone who does not own her so this is just theory)

I think we need to put into perspective that Navia is one character in an element that has an established archetype in the combat system of Genshin. Just like when you posted a similiar video to “Raiden saving Electro” I think we need to recognize that Navia’s kit is solely hers and hers alone. And to elaborate on that point, Raiden’s inclusion into the game didn’t fix electro’s place it only just added more room for new comps. However, it showed that Hoyo was trying to do new things with the element and with Dendro’s inclusion we can say that electro has just as much a place in the DPS category as cryo, hydro, and pyro. AND its characters have unique synergies in a post 3.0 world. Navia doesn’t fix the lack synergy other geo characters have with other units, but it is a sign Hoyo is doing something with future geo units rather than leaving them by the wayside. And that in a sense is how “Navia is saving geo”. She’s only one unit, but a unit that signals a change to one of the most neglected elements of the game.

I just want to say I don't play a single game u cover on any of your channels. I used to play genshin but stopped in version 3 but I honestly love your content to the point where it doesn't matter to me I'll still somehow watch you no matter the game. Keep in mind I found your channel after I quit genshin
