Navia English Voice Changes (Before and After) | Genshin Impact

Seems like Navia's battle voices are a little more high pitched

It sounds like she is having a lot of fun when in battle which makes her voice higher pitched.

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed something is off about her voice direction, still like her a lot though! Her performance in the archon quest was just too good. Also, very based music choice in the video

She doesn't sound sad and distressed anymore. She sounds like she's comfortable and having fun! She deserves it!

People are saying that her voice is higher because she's in combat but no other character in the game has that much change in their vocals from story to combat. Unless this is a new direction hoyo is taking for their characters, I call bs because no other playable female (to my knowledge) has such a gap in their range from story to combat. (I did notice Venti is extra "feminine" sounding in combat.) They should've kept it how it was in my opinion. She went up by several octaves and it's far too differing and from her nermal voice.

Navia was perhaps the first EN VA whose voice matched her well. The way she emotes sadness, resolve and steadfastness. She was bold, brave and cool. Even when sad you really felt her pain. Now she's very hyper pitched and it kinda hurts my ears and really takes away from what we experienced in the AQ. Plus she is a mature woman not a young girl

I just noticed that as soon as I pulled her. Looks like I wasnt the only one who noticed that. I prefer her old voice, but yet her new voice she sounds happier, which makes sense since she overcame all the pain

Navia finally not sad, stressed, and depressed every five seconds, of course she sounds different. Different emotions, different situations will have different inflections. I like that she sounds like she's finally having fun and lightening up during battle. Even her story quest the pitch of her voice changes with situations.

I don't understand why so many people have an issue with it; it's _blatantly_ obvious that the higher pitched voice lines are for when she's happy/ having fun, and her lower pitched ones are when she's serious or upset.

Battle voice lines being higher pitch is actually highly realistic, pitch goes up even for males during an intense adrenaline rush like combat. It is very common, and as a result those who are in professions where they have to be able to give clear and loud instructions during such high stress situations require training, and even then it doesnt always work.

When Navia said“Silver and Melus used to do things like this” I really felt like crying. Poor girl, I wish I could hug her :/

The video makes it seem like there were old voicelines to begin with (to my knowledge, there weren't any). This is just a comparison of her tone in the Archon and story quest and normal lines vs her battle voicelines. Just like how professional singers can change tone when switching between talking and singing, or people who are bilingual switching between languages, Navia's battle voicelines have more inflexion because she is in combat. The same can be said with most characters in Genshin. But one could add that its also her duality as a lady and President of the Spina di Rosula which make them sound noticeably different. I listened to a bunch of characters just now and little of the battle lines sound the same as the ones in their resting voice.

A fairer comparison could be differences between her lines in the Archon quest vs her story quest, to show coming to terms with the past. These shouldn't be changes in the voice direction but Navia's character development. I'll have to play through her quest to find out if that's true or not.

I was a little let down by the new direction. For some reason I expected her to sound older? Like the voice you’d expect on if Noelle had a fun-loving older sister lol

I imagine at some point, the agency that Mihoyo hired for Navia EN va, is going in the direction to make Navia higher pitch as the story progresses. Like Paimon.
But I'm sure Navia fans will love her no matter what.
For me, I'll vehemently dislike the voice change. She's a lady, not a bitch
