What happened to the whole "people are taught to be racist"? Did that get thrown out the window?

Wouldn't a child prefer people who look more like their caregivers? That seems normal to me.

It's an animal instinct to recognize someone who who looks like yourself. Often reason albinos are killed in the animal kingdom.

So it's not bias, it's just unfamiliarity.

The first time I saw a person of African descent, (I was 5 years old) I thought that they had a skin disorder.

Study has a lot of flaws. Children don't typically even notice themselves in the mirror around 6 months meaning they are not really self aware. It would be more believable if it was around 2/ late ones because thats when my daughter started to recognize family and choose the ones she likes and dislikes.

the biggest problem here is that money is being spent on this. Maybe babies learn to trust their parents and families and this guy is full of it.

Tucker's mouth is catching flies while he tries to twist the narrative.

Looking at pictures of black people makes me sad too.

Actually it's true. My sister used to hate black barbies when she was 4-5 😂

Lol - it's familiarity !!! My children were all born in a multi-race church. They were held and loved by all of the congregation. Our children never showed preference. I taught them to love every race because we all come from the same DNA!

I love the Tucker "Ah huh" moment which is the Tucker trigger that the guest is going to find it very hard to answer the next question. Go get 'em Tucker!

It's not a racial attitude. It's acceptance of their home inhabitants. At early age children starting to be afraid of strangers, reacting to unfamiliar faces is a part of being alert to strangers and one of the key if early mankind survival.
Acceptance of diversity comes later, when children start communicate verbally.

Makes sense. Babies focus on those that resemble their parents
