For some reason I prefer composite cables over component for the Silent Hill games on my Trinitron. I like the softer almost anti aliasing look they give.

May just be me but I got my component cable today that was oem from sony and the difference is marginal it's not nearly as big people make it out to be. I have 16 vision combined (so better than 20/20) and the one thing I noticed on my set (Toshiba 32A33) is that the crt flicker stood out more and the colors were more accurate but tbh I preferred the composite connection just because the flicker was almost unnoticeable and the image was a little softer. If I looked really closely on the composite connection I could see the flicker still but I had to be looking for it to notice it.

So to all you folks that think you must have component to have an amazing experience you don't. It's way over hyped by the retro gaming community IMO. Save your money and put it towards a good game.

Actually those cables can work on PS1 it's just a round about way. If you have the gun con adapter. Use the yellow composite passthrough on the gun con with the Green input and, it should work. All the PS1 is looking for is a sync signal.

Keep an eye on Japanese yahoo auctions and look for an old Sony CD1700. Good shit.
