My favorite is Unleashed. My least favorite is Forces.

Unleashed is the only one to actually have difficulty in it which makes it more fun. (WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE THAT ROOM IN EGGMANLAND WITH LIKE 12 BILLION ROBOTS THOUGH?!?!)

For me
(Top 3 are all really close in my eyes)
1. Generations
2. Frontiers
3. Unleashed

(Pretty good but not even close to the top 3)
4. Colors

(This game isn’t as bad as people say but it’s not great either)
5. Forces

We have the exact same opinion, Sonic Forces was a deception, Sonic Colors is decent but not the big deal, Sonic Generations is a very good game but with its issues and short duration, Sonic Frontiers is a very nice experiment with a lot of potential for future games and very consistent on its gameplay, and Unleashed is (in my opinion) perfection in this formula.

Saying Frontiers is better than Generations is pure evil

I used to really dislike colors, but I actually really enjoyed it when going for all red rings and S ranks (aside from a few levels and one of the bosses). I’d rank it like B tier or something. Unleashed and Generations are tied for me (idk give them both high A-low S tier), but sometimes I prefer one over the other (I prefer unleashed rn). Frontiers was really fun for me and it might be slowly becoming my favorite 3D Sonic game despite some of the issues (it’s tied with unleashed atm). The open zone was so much fun, especially once the updates came out, and the bosses were incredible, though cyberspace felt a bit lacking, and Sonic controls terribly in those levels for some reason (idk how they never changed his cyberspace controls in any of the 3 updates). The story and dialogue was such an improvement to the last few games, and I appreciated the references to older games (even if they can be a bit much at points lol). It still blows my mind how well this formula works for Sonic, and the improvements that can be made by building off of it leads to some incredible potential. Forces is funny to me since it was my first 3D Sonic game ever, and the only other Sonic game I played besides Rush (I wasn’t in the loop for the franchise for some reason despite being a fan). I enjoyed my time with it at first, then realized people hated it, and I played a bunch of the older games between then and the release of frontiers, and I can confirm, forces is mid. I still do like a few parts of it (customization was cool, though I hope it comes back for Sonic more since there’s so many outfits he could wear to reference other games, and speedrunning some of the stages is fun). Also to anyone reading this, if you made it this far I’m sorry I typed the length of a New York Times bestseller when discussing Sonic games lol

You’ve read my mind, bro. I also rank my favourite boost games as such

I 100% agree with this list! Sonic frontiers is such a masterpiece, not perfect but so good and unleashed on a console that can actually run it like x box series X and S is just one of the funnest and just amazing sonic games ever.

Now that Shadow Generations is out, here’s how I would rank them:

1. Unleashed
2. Shadow Generations
3. Sonic Generations
4. Frontiers
5. Colors
6. Forces

My top (based on my experience)

1.- Generations: it is a great improvement over the gameplay of Unleashed and the drift is a great leap.

2.- Unleashed: it has very good effects but but you can tell that it was a little more archaic in some aspects, especially in skidding.

3.- The Rush Formula: the impact of Sonic Rush on future games is undeniable and with mechanics that knew how to refresh the formula in Rush Adventure and Colors for DS (edition I tried).

Forces: although it has limited controls and a basic level design, at least this if we can call it a Boost game and not like "Sonic Clown The Game"...

Sonic Story Book, they are specific moments but at least they have charisma...

Colors (Wii): slippery control when skidding, turbo limited, being practically a Nintendo game but bad, the Wisp and other things that I won't bother to say... And I'm just talking about the Wii Version

Colors Ultimate: *N O*

Aye, that’s my ranking for them too. Even the part where you said Frontiers and Unleashed are technically tied

My list

1:Unleashed (Best level design and good difficulty)
2:Generations (great level design but its too easy)
3:Colors ( level design is average for me )
4:Forces (Not good but i still enjoy the stages more than cyberspace)
5:Frontiers ( Im sorry but cyberspace is not for me) ):

Like I know they can’t be all winners, but holy shit you definitely did a disservice to Sonic Colors. That game truly is a banger

Super psyched to see Unleashed make it to #1. I practically grew up with that game, and it's one of my favorite Sonic games to this day.

My ranking:

1. Unleashed Daytime Stages (Linear but allows you freedom to platform and steer Sonic so maintaining speed is a challenge, while including unique platforming challenges that makes it engaging like the running on water mechanic)

2. Colors Wii (If you know how to use the Wisps, it's engaging in how the game expects you to know how to also navigate Sonic through platforming and steering Sonic using the Wisps, like the Drill Wisps. Plus it has the most layered 2D sections out of all the boost games with multiple paths, thus making it the best game in finding Red Rings.)

3. Generations (Controls aren't suited for 3D explorations, 2D platforming feels more stop and go, especially if you're not on the top road in later stages, despite that the speed, inclusion of the trick system and still containing some dynamic platforming for the top road makes up for it)

4. Frontiers (Fun level designs for the obstacle courses in the overworld, but Generations felt more dynamic and diverse in its level assets.)

5. Rush games (still really good, not a lot of dynamic platforming or level design but actually just as engaging as the other 3D games because of the trick system whoch fits eith the level design.)

6. Forces (Too short, linear speed focused level design a la Daytime Stages doesn't work without any dynamic linear level design, speed pads everywhere that doesn't let you navigate to them and your boost coming from Wisps thus limiting your ability to actually play with your speed, especially since you can't air dash like in Colors)
