Possible fix for the Double Clicking issue on some mice

The Double Clicking issue is when you click once and it fires twice, so it activates twice even though it was pressed once. This has been happening on mice for years and I've seen many theories about it, but I've only experienced it twice. And I've managed to resolve it both times somehow.

Hoping this video can work for some, or at least get us closer to the actual answer.

Usual Amazon links if you're buying the mice listed in this video... they're mostly ok but as you saw in the polls, there can be issues. All my copies are fine since I fixed the one day double clicking of the Logitech G903.

If you're buying anything from eBay, you can use my affiliate links:

Here's a tip that might fix a lot of double click issues. Blow into the mouse. No joke. A lot of the time, especially with Logitech and ESPECIALLY with razer mice, you have a static charge build up inside and it makes the damn thing double click. Just blow into the slit under the clicky mouse thing you use to click. Like a long full blow. You don;t have to remove anything or unscrew, just give it a long blow or two to make sure you get some good moisture in there. More of a breathe than a blow, really. A hard breathe.
Not saying this is universal fix, but it works in a surprising amount of cases. If your mouse double clicks, try it out.

For minecraft players, this is a need, not a problem.

I'm glad this wasn't a 10+ minute vlog where the actual content we were looking for was half way through and quickly brushed over. Just a straight to the point, informative video meant to help the users. I don't have the issue on mine but i hope this helps people who are. Awesome video as always!

Changed it from a 3.0 port to a 2.0, worked like a charm! Thanks for that, I was afraid to have to do surgery on it if it was material.

Sometimes when I press two button at the same time, to aim and shoot, they rub :G

one option that helped me is going to your pc's additional mouse settings amd putting the double clicking speed to the fastest. Try it out

literally just uninstalled drivers, unplugged my mouse, then installed the drivers again, this fixed it. I hate computers.

I had this problem on my old Deathadder 3.5G after like 1 year of use. What I did was take it apart and put a drop of WD40 on the little "mouse click box" (don't know what it's called, basically the click button) and it fixed the problem for another 2 years or so. Had to do this 2 times over the lifespan of the mouse which lasted me about 6 years, but it was an easy enough solution :)

Wow. Glad to know I’m not the only one and it’s a known issue. Been having this issue lately. Thanks for the video. 🙏🏼

It could be because of static charge. Try to slowly press and release the mouse button to identify if it's always double click while contacts are close. And then try to blow air inside with your mouth and do the test again. It fixed for me.

I suppose it's hardware issue anyway. You being able to cure it with polling rate make me even more sure of it. I heard, that there is a hardware delay for mechanical microswitches due to variable amount of contact surface involved in different moments of the switch actuation process there are difference in electrical current running throught. So engineeres built in the several miliseconds delay so that the electrical current may stabilize and only then send a signal to a computer. So the best way should be to disassemble mouse and cleant the problem switch, or replaceme it completely. If you are still on a warranty, let them do it for you, or replace the product completely. If you are able to get a similar switch you can try replace it mechanical keyboard style without resoldering anything. But it's arguably much harder than resolder. I also heard, that optic switches apparantly don't have this problem. Unfortunately there is not enough device with laser\optical switches to make any sort of conclusion. I only had problem with switches on logitech m570, and repaired through replacing the microswicth.

I honestly never considerd that it was logitech apps fault and always brushed it aside as the potential cause of the issue, I currently use logitech g502 hero and have had it for at least 2 an dhalf years now and have been facing this problem so much that I have been considering replacing it with a new mouse, I have been mulling over it for a couple of months now and after seeing this video I will try the solutions here first before using money to fix a fixable problem. I'm glad that this video doesn't have add ons to it which makes it easy to understand and not so time wasting. I hope your channel continues to grow and thank you for making this video!

I bought a new logitech trackball because my old one unfortunately had the double clicking. Before anyone makes fun of trackballs, they’re good because they allow me to work without stressing the carpal tunnel, so it spares my hand to play games (which I do with a mouse of course).

I have an old HP mouse for probably a decade and it just doesn't die. Why do ancient hardware seem to last forever lol.
