GitHub is the most popular platform for developers across the world to share and collaborate on programming projects together. In this video, i'll explain how the git protocol works using the analogy of a car company (Tesla), how github works, and then show you from command line how you can push your first repository to github on your own computer.

Ok no, I’m going mad here. 0:42, that coder is either never going to code, and always fill his coffee, or never get any coffee and always code. What kind of hell has that if statement locked that poor coder into?

I like how you're speaking more slowly and explaining more about why something is useful rather than just jumping right into code. It makes it much easier to listen to you.

Siraj, I think at 3:00 the animation should've started from the top live version than the first shown Staging area. I was initially confused in my first so it might be lil confusing for other noobs like me.
I was trying to understand Github for a while, and today you uploaded what I very much wanted- perfect explanation. thanks a lot.

Siraj, as a computer science undergrad freshman student from brazil, I fucking love you. As if the AI videos weren't enough, you managed to make a video exactly about what I planned on learning next week.

3:09 you mixed the live version description with the local version animation and vice versa 3:26

Poor programmer .. that code in 0:40 doesn't make sense :(
Why fill coffee ☕ if it's not empty? Why keep programming and not fill the ☕ if it is empty? :(

@Siraj Hey remember, you should fork peoples repository instead of just stealing their code

Thanks so much! I just started using GitHub for ML projects about a week ago, and it's made my life a lot easier. It really helps to have a simple, compact explanation like this available.

Great intro, but only one complaint. The animated graphics often felt like they were out of sync with the narration. Confusing at first, but eventually made sense.

On the plus side, the chart at 4:40 is especially informative. Not having used GIT very much, I was a little confused by the difference between commit and push, for example. The chart quickly clarifies this and other concepts.

Nice job.
