the pakistanis have come to the conclusion of letting the people of kashmir choose their destiny, initially they were of the opinion that the choice lay with accession to either india or pakistan, since general musharaf to today the pakistanis have come to the realisation the fact that the option of a Free Jammu and Kashmir has to be accepted. india and indians can bury their heads like the ostrich but the stark reality is that the overwhelming number of Kashmiris will never accept indian occupation and settler colonisation, as is currently envisioned by the hindutva bjp government.

India's new position viz via Pakistan on kashmir is more vulnerable.
Even after abbrogating articles 370 & 35-A respectively india's new position is much weaker.
It allows Pakistan and china to take much good position strategically on ground.
