Problem is buying a new reasonably priced medium sized car. Ford's smallest car is now an SUV crossover.

I noticed recenlty a video from auto trader saying dealers are under valuing stock. I notced not long after a small increase circa £200 in the cars i have on my autotrader watch list (18 or so 2022-2022 volvo V90s).

However nothing is selling, these cars have been on sale for months. Something has to give.

Cars are flat. At budget level market. Holding money well 10 year old middle mile super minis. Forget all the coupes/EVs/dearer cars > £15000. Prices aren’t going anywhere sub 5k retail cars. They just Won’t fall substantially. Won’t climb. Wont fall. Just flat. New cars are so dear old metal and rubber just holding nicely.

Interest rates aren’t high - they are at the long term average. It’s just that compared to last 15 years they have risen massively.
