Classic Cornbread Dressing

Being a Northerner, the first time I heard about "dressing," I thought it referred to the stuff you pour over a salad. But I was then schooled that it is the Southern variation of the holy grail of carby sides: stuffing. The difference between the two is that stuffing is usually made with bread crumbs whereas dressing is usually made from cornbread with a few eggs added to the mix - it's also typically more moist than stuffing. The secret to making the mist flavorful dressing is by using Better Than Bouillon Turkey Base and topping it off with a variation of Better Than Gravy. It also doesn't get easier to prepare, making sure your table is always fully dressed with a smile.

Georgia girl here. Love your recopes but no bell peppers have ever been in any dressing I have had in 74 years.

Having won my families "stuffing" contest many times at thanksgiving I can attest to the fact this is an excellent base recipe. Like he says at the end, your kitchen your rules. try some sausage, mushrooms, and walnuts or pecans. Mix it up, you can't really go wrong.

Kick it up a notch with some crabmeat, oysters and shrimp! That's how we roll down south! Best dressing ever!

I frickin' love Better Than Bouillon. I am so thankful they also make "faux" chicken and beef flavors as well. I cook for a picky vegetarian, and this stuff kicks every time!

From a Central Alabama girl, I am sure this dressing is good because everything you make is AUsome! However, I can't say that I have ever heard of putting bell peppers in dressing just onions and celery but I bet it is good. You have to start out with day old buttermilk cornbread, some loaf bread, crackers and day old biscuits. No odd seasonings. Add enough turkey broth until you think you have put in too much. Take out several spoonfuls to add to your giblet gravy. Then, put in baking dish and cook.

I make a cornbread dressing from scratch and it’s good but the flavor I feel like wasn’t really there. Now I think with better than bouillon it’ll give me that pow I’m looking for
Also I use a fork to create ridges so it has a crispy texture on top

Stuffing is inside the bird.😢

Dressing is a pan outside of the bird.😂. It will not cause you to have serious illness or death due to undercooked turkey. Besides, it will come together faster and be more tasty😂
