Walnuts are one of the cheapest nuts at Costco and come in a huge bag! They are conventional in MD, USA but also low on pesticide residue. Great to add to oatmeal or make walnut taco meat.

Derek, you’ve been sharing Simnett Nutrition videos for almost 10 years I’ve been with you for a solid 7-8. My all time fav videos to pop up on my subscriptions. Love your work 💚

Two things that I was surprised to not see on the list were peanut or almond butter and frozen fruit - particularly blueberries. :) Keep up the great work Derek!

In Oregon at Costco I also like to purchase the fresh organic greens, they usually have a couple of different options like a mix of dark leafy baby greens or power greens (can toss them in freezer too btw), also sprouts, organic shitake mushrooms, organic frozen cauliflower rice, organic frozen broccoli, organic frozen fruits, organic quinoa, they do have the best deal on organic peanut butter, almond butter, 100% maple syrup…

Other faves from Costco: Kirkland Almond Butter, organic medjool dates, Kirkland Hemp Hearts, and Kirkland organic dried mangoes.🌱💪

You did such an amazing job editing this video! I'm in Canada too, and my go-to stores for shopping are Costco, Walmart, and Superstore—each one has its own great deals.
I’ve been vegan for 10 years now, and although I have a diploma in advanced holistic nutrition and a certificate in vegetarian & vegan nutrition, I still find your videos so inspiring and educational. It’s a breath of fresh air, especially with so many “no longer vegan” videos popping up these days. Thank you for staying true to it and keeping your channel going strong! Always looking forward to seeing your videos. :)

We add red lentils to our oatmeal for added protein. You don’t even notice they are there.

Frozen mushrooms! Fresh mushrooms are so expensive so I don't buy them often but they have such unique nutrient profiles. I just throw in a handful of frozen mushrooms to my daily bowls.

Great video, as always. I'm always throwing your name out there for people starting a plant based diet. You're my favorite.

I agree about that brand of oats. They taste better and feel better. Oats seem to have certain nutrients and qualities no other food can replace.

Ahhh so glad to hear that about milled flaxseed, thank you! ❤

I only stock up on canned black beans and tomato puree. Not so nutritious but I can always make something if they're in the cupboard.

I would also add chickpea flour. Add some water, spices, riced veg and frozen greens and you have some pretty amazing omelettes. One bag lasts us at least a month and we eat these most weekdays for breakie.
