Acrochordons or Skin tags

They are benign tumors that form mainly in regions of folds such as the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids, and submammary folds.

What are skin tags?
Skin tags are not warts, they are fibroepithelial polyps or pedunculated papules. They are soft in consistency and can be white or dark and usually occur in 50% of people over 50 years of age. Skin tags are not viral in origin and therefore are not contagious. The treatment is solely for aesthetic purposes.

What is the cause?
There is not enough research to determine the causes of skin tags. Despite this, they are common with age. They are also common in people who have diabetes and in people who are overweight. They are also hereditary.

The laser used in our medical centers produces micro perforation fractions keeping the skin around these perforations intact. This allows the skin that receives these piercings to regenerate (heal) from the outside to the inside, improving the skin more quickly, and with less risk of deep injury. It enters the skin generating an increase in temperature and, consequently, the production of collagen is stimulated.
