I also think the biggest problem for most people is it's not very cost effective to have a doctor remove them in the office. Upwards of $400, not including the cost of the visit. Therefore making cheaper at home treatments so appealing.

I had a cyst removed from the back of my wrist recently and the surgery prep solution they used INFLAMED the skin on my arm - solid patches of red, itchy bumps. I used your Prequel Barrier Therapy cream and it helped. I took it to my follow-up and showed it to my orthopedic surgeon. She said, “Oh, this is a good one. You can use this instead of a steroid cream if you want.” Which I did. Thanks for the relief!

Insulin resistance is a huge factor. Insulin is a growth hormone.

I have a deeper olive skin tone, and my derm burned off my skin tags mostly around my neck area last year. Seem to get skin tags every summer from running outside and the chafing that occurs from my sports bra. But it's easy and not too painful to have them removed easily by a derm! It only cost $250 out of pocket for up to 20 skin tags removed. She also supervised a resident doing it though so maybe that's why it was a bit discounted.

Thanks for the information. I've had skin tags removed. Irish/English/Scottish genes here. I have skin issues - Doc removed a basil cell carcinoma about 4 years ago. Now i see Doc every 6 months. Thank you dad & many sun burns & a baby hot coffee burn that put me in hospital 2 weeks. Dermatologist is precious to me.

Hello Dr. Ellis. Yes I did get skin tags around my neck from my gold chain. My doctor also burned it, my mother also gets them around her neck also from a gold necklace. I was told to wash my chain and not wear it for a month. But after a month I put on my clean gold chain but they tags came back. I did this about 3 times and then I stopped wearing anything around my neck all together. In my opinion burning is better than freezing, it does hurt a little bit but it worked. Thank you for your very informative videos ❤

I have skin tags all over my neck and chest areas. The underarm tags were a real problem after shaving and deodorant application. The skin was inflamed, itchy and irritated. I switched to Lume deodorant and acidified body wash and the irritation has subsided.

No wonder I got a $1500 bill for my skin tag removal, was NEVER told that insurance wouldn't cover it. They used an acid and they never even came off like I was told they would. $1500 just to STILL HAVE the skin tags. Love american healthcare

I have skin tags, and unfortunately they’re in my lash line. I only get them around my eyes mainly because allergies and rubbing my eyes a lot. When I was young and dumb I used small toenail clippers to remove one that was in the corner of my eye/near the tear duct. It bleed so much, but damn I was so lucky it didn’t get infected as I took no sanitation steps.

I am definitely prone to skin tags and honestly I just leave them alone. I've had one or two fall off on their own and when I was a teenager I had one fall off because a hair got wrapped around it and it cut off the blood supply. I'm thankful that that situation didn't cause any long term problems.

I also have lots of cherry angiomas and regular moles and have keratosis pilaris and hidradenitis suppurativa. I suspect that I have a faulty gene that is causing all of these issues especially since all but the HS runs in my family.

I'm 33, and i am diabetic i just started noticing them, I have 2 on my eye lid. I was thinking that if they bother me too much (visually) I can have them removed. This video was very informational. ❤

i have had about 30 removed over the years. there are inexpensive public health laser clinics in Thailand. a dermatologist examines them one by one writes down data then you go up to the clinic and wait 5 or 10 minutes. they call you in to apply a numbing cream on the tags. after half an hour a very skilled laser technician removes them mostly painlessly. they give you a small tube of antibiotic ointnent to apply at home for 2 days. I chose this because some were on my face and near my eyes . the cost ranged from 7$ to 25$ for the huge ones. all were totally gone in 3 days and never cane back.

Yes, I do one by the armpit and as I was shaving my armpit, I nicked it and it started bleeding. had a huge one on my neck went to the dermatologist. It was a darker color like brown and they cut it off and biopsy it, but it was not cancer. I can’t stand them and I never do it at home. Cut it off. Thank you for the review.

The main cause of skin tags is insulin resistance NOT genetics, and people who have a lot of them often have diabetes, because type 2 is also caused by insulin resistance (as is most, if not all, chronic disease). Once a low carb diet and/or fasting are adopted, the insulin resistance is reversed and many find that most, if not all, their skin tags shrivel up or fall off.

Some people have reported that castor oil has helped, as well.

I had an external hemorrhoid and when I got it removed surgically in the office, a few weeks later I thought it grew back, BUT the doctor said it was skin tag grew in its place!
I’m not sure I want to keep doing this .lol . Maybe I’ll just live with it .

Here in Australia they now charge $80 per skin tag to be frozen off. I have them on my neck due to PCOS.
