Do Wireless Chargers Degrade Your Battery Health?

So I saw a bunch of comments on a recent video of mine about wireless chargers degrading battery health. And in this video I explain whether or not wireless chargers degrade your battery health or damage your battery or is it just a myth. Since wireless or induction charging has gotten to a point where almost every upper mid range to high end smartphone has it, people have started using it more frequently thanks to its easy of use. Apple's iPhone battery health monitoring system which allows you to see how much your iPhone's battery health had degraded has started to cause people to wonder how their iPhones battery health has degraded and how they can stop it, and a main suspect is usually wireless charging as phones overheat while wireless charging. The popularity of Belkin Wireless chargers, Anker Wireless chargers and Apple MagSafe chargers have seriously pushed the technology into a serious and useful feature on modern smartphones. But some people have asked, do wireless chargers degrade battery health? or are wireless chargers bad for your phone?..reasonable questions for a technology as such. So lets answer the questions of whether wireless chargers ruin your battery health or damage your battery! #WirelessCharging #MagSafe #FastCharging

I love that you analyzed the human and mental aspect of this, not just stats!

it's the opposite for me, I quit using a USB charger and keep my phone on a Samsung wireless charger most of the day everyday and after 2 Years my battery life and performance is almost as good as it was brand new.

Actually Magsafe already tried to solve alot of these problem. Thats why they are little slower than other solution from Android world because they dynamically change the charging wattage based on temperature of both the phone and charger, another thing is they also add magnet to align the coils to reduce the waste of power.

My coworker bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which she has on a wireless charger all day, about six months ago and her battery health is now at 92% which to me seems kind of low for a phone that old. Another coworker who has had an iPhone 12 mini for about four months and who uses the cable to charge has 100% battery health.

Very informative, thank you for the video!
I'm looking into this video because I'm gonna switch from Samsung to Apple soon which unfortunately they still don't have Usb C, so I was worried about using the Magsafe too much may degrade my battery. It's good to know that it's not always the case.

Thanks for this. Good thing I haven't bought a magsafe charger yet and the magsafe case I bought was relatively cheap yet functional.

So is the apple mag portable charger ok to use very infrequently and only when no access to an outlet to obtain a little extra time.

Is qi certification necessary or do most chargers pass this test to the point they don’t bother putting it on the box?

I have purchased an aftermarket wireless dock, but still using my 5mAh charging brick from apple store. Don't think I get the full 15w fast charging, but it still charges pretty fast. Think I'll test with cable, but I doubt I can get the full 15w charge using this brick so I think I'm technically not "fast-charging" the phone. Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong. Have an iPhone 13 Mini

I’ve never heard anyone complain that using a wireless charger is that much easier than a wired one

Can frequent, short charging damage/degrade battery faster? Like I put a phone on a wireless charger for 15min, get a text message, pick the phone up, respond, put the phone down on the charger and so on for 8 hours (let's say at work).
