Want to buy a vintage Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Cartier, etc...? Well then check out the T&H watch shop would ya!

Tudor and Rolex...brothers...sisters...enemies. Today Michael makes the daring choice of telling Christian that the Tudor Pelagos is a better watch than the Rolex Submariner. Is he correct? Has Rolex finally gone too far with their price to quality ratio? Or does Tudor cut corners/miss something that Rolex has?

I’ve owned a Pelagos LHD for the last two years and it’s a fantastic watch. It regularly gets compliments, more so than my Rolex, which I love but is very common to all finance bros, tech bros, lawyers and doctors. Each time you get on a plane, take a look at the wrists as you’re boarding. You’re typically gonna see several black subs on the way to your seat. Love it but unfortunately, there’s nothing special anymore about a standard black Rolex Submariner

When wearing my Tudor: "nice watch".
When wearing my Rolex: "is it real or fake?"

Prices aren’t ever justified - it’s luxury watches. If we want to go down that path none of these watches are “worth it” in the truest sense

I'm with Michael on this. Ignoring the price and brand, just looking at the watch and how it's built... the Pelagos beats the Sub. With the Rolex you're buying brand and status. With the Tudor you're buying a great watch.

Also a correction, the movement in the Pelagos is a Tudor in-house movement, not at all related to ETA. I would argue it's a BETTER movement than the Rolex as it has a silicon balance spring, on top of the full balance bridge and 70 hour power reserve..

I was on holiday in Sicily on a boat this week. I was talking to a Brit before we took our "banio" in the Tyrrhenian sea. Met a really nice English fellow named Steve. Our wives refused to dive in, Steve and I did while bobbing in a great body of water I said Steve I am a watch geek I think you have a GMT on a hard to tell the brand. He said its a BATMAN but I thought maybe a Pepsi BUT could not see any red and yes my eyes suck. I replied "yeah I have the "little brother a Tudor Pelagos" blue dial. He replied 'yeah I noticed it right away'.

I have been critical of past videos but credit is due for this one. One of the best videos so far even including the ad and finishing with Lange, what a beautiful piece.

Alot of people would choose pelagos over submariner. And not due to the Rolex's price hike but from sheer design and specs aspect.

I like them both. My problem with the sub is everyone has it. I see them everywhere. I hardly see the pelagos. I like the not so popular rolex watches. Milgauss, gmt root beer, rhodium Yachtmaster. Etc

They’re great when the lume isn’t falling out of the bezel!

Can’t wait to see the color(s) that they release for this model.

Don’t the bezel lume plots keep falling out of people’s P39’s?

It’s a great strategic move by Tudor. Getting customers that have that budget in mind, like the connection with Rolex, or like Tudor. Scooping up customers from the competition is never a bad thing.

Saying the Tudor in-house is based on an ETA... idk if that's true? Aren't they made by the now integrated Kenissi, that also makes Breitling and Norqain movements?

What got me is when you guys said ok if both watches are the same price which one would you get? Made me think that I would get the pelagos

I love my pelagos 39. The weight of the ti and the thin case makes it disappear on my wrist. I really like the sub but the value just isnt there and id rather have a watch that isnt on everyone's wrist.

Rolex is bought by everyone, who can affort. Tudor is bought by watch enthusiats. Wearing a Rolex, I would be frightened to be robbed. The Pelagos is Mord casual, you can wear it everyday.

not a fair comparison, I have tried on both and own a submariner, I was a bit shocked at the dial of the Tudor, it appeared a bit blank.

The way I approach this question with any item I purchase is simple. If no one ever saw the watch but me, so external opinions have no play, which one would I choose?

I think the title is absolutely correct it’s better in a few ways but doesn’t pretend to be a submariner in my opinion
