I mentioned this in the Pelagos Part 1 review but not a deciding factor in choosing between the 2 watches.... The lug width! 21 on the P39 and 20 on the BB58! If you love your strap changes this could be important? Thanks for watching all!!!

I think you’re right, I’d go with the BB58 also because of its retro style and the lovely warm gold lettering on the dial. The Pelagos as wonderful as it is is just too close to a Submariner and at its price point I’d be looking at a Breitling Superocean as well, both of which aren’t like a 58. Great show as always, cheers MWC :-)

Nice comparison. I wish diver extensions were an optional add-on. Many clasps are made worse when a useless extension is awkwardly added to them. Tudor, Sinn, Seiko, etc...

Love this comparison show MWC!

Both are sadly out of my price range but I’d go for the Pelagos 39 if I had the money in my watch piggy bank. Titanium doesn’t do anything for me but I love the monochrome colourway of the Pelagos which is only interrupted by that awesome red line of text and I’ve never really been a fan of the gilt hand and indeces which are a real signature of the Black Bay.

Either would make a fantastic addition to any collection though!

I’ve had my BB58 for a bit over a year and I am still mesmerized by it. I love everything about it. The accuracy is just phenomenal- I last set it more than two months ago and it is still within 1 second of my iPhone clock.

Awwww, it's so sweet to see how relatively reserved you were even just a year ago.
It's great to see the progress to the more 'exuberant' videos as that is where you truly shine!

Walked into an AD for my birthday in 2020, walked out with a BB58 and it's still my favorite watch. Only two years in and it's been with me to so many weddings and major events. Classy enough for a suit and just casual enough for a t-shirt and jeans 👍

Really loved the video. I own the BB58 Black and it's one of my favorite watches. I agree with you that the BB58 and Palgos 39 are different enough to own both. I'll have to show this video to my wife to help her understand why I NEED both. Thanks for another great video.

I love both! Tudor make some incredible watches. If I had to choose though, I'd probably go BB58. For me that's the best looking watch on the market and still my grail! 😍

Fantastic comparison. Both watches look fantastic and it would be tough for me to choose without seeing both in person. I do not own any high end watches at this time but if I did Tudor is on the top of my list. I think my Seiko’s, Citizens, G-shocks, and Hamilton would not get much love if I purchased a Tudor. The black bay 58 blue dial has had my attention for a while. Your video production is top notch. Cheers!

Totally agree! I much prefer the BB58 look. The clasp, the look and weight of steel, the dial and bezel, the lume, etc. Everything I prefer on the 58. The Pelagos is technically a better watch and the price shows that. But I’m design first so it’s the 58 for me. You can find them lightly used for under $3000 now. The Pelagos is hard to find new and over retail used.

Have always liked the Pelagos. Favorite Tudor! But I’ve just come to the realization that I really don’t care for titanium watches. I’ve owned several and I recently sold the last one of my collection. It’s too light for my liking and it scratches easily Unless it has a scratch resistant coating like this one. Hmmm… So I guess I’ll take the BlackBay 58?! Thanks for the great comparison

You have merged the quantitive specification with a personal perspective!

The Pelagos screams I mean business! A very well executed tool watch with all of the categories advantages and limitations. The bb58 is more versatile for an all rounder. Bb58 for me!

I think I would go for a Black Bay 58 in blue over either of these. The Pelagos 39 is a little dry and modern for my tastes (although I love the titanium), and the 58 in the black and gold color way looks a little old fashioned. I suppose my preferences lie somewhere in the middle.

I got the BB58 from the wife but I'm thinking of adding the Pelagos 39 to the collection as well! Both are just stunning

Good to know the BB58 was your winner - I own one of those too! It's certainly a beauty. But the Pelagos is also fine - don't think you can go wrong with either.

Owner of a blue BB58, I jumped on the Pelagos 39 wait list a few months ago. Both have their place in my collection. Looking forward to the AD call.

I want both. I have the BB58 Blue so the Pelagos is different enough to justify it. Also I love the more modern feel

I love my blue BB58, so I’m a little partial! That Pelagos looks like a great watch & I’d consider it if I didn’t already have my Tudor.
