1 time I noticed you when you, not knowing a word of Chinese, tried to teach English to Chinese. Now that you're a fully fledged author, I respect you even more. I also really appreciate your transparency; well, you know, as soon as people achieve some success, they immediately become very closed. Please, as an editor, do not treat my English very strictly, it is my 3rd language. ;)

When you talked about writing being the only thing you wanted to do and had that level of passion for, and how you didn't have a plan B, that hit hard. It's one of the things that makes creative/artistic pursuits so hard. It's not like other jobs where you're obviously either good at your job or bad. But this is so subjective. You could be good at what you do and there will always be people who think you aren't.

I think you should feel so proud of these numbers! Having watched several author videos of similar content in the last couple of weeks, many of them are thrilled when they sell 100+ books in a year (many of them believe this is a steady number to hit per year as far as indie authors have been saying). You are doing everything you should be doing and you are doing amazingly. ♥

It's so interesting hearing you talk about meeting people in the authortube community who go on to stop making videos. I have changed my content genre many times but even then, none of the youtube friends that I made back when I started are even making videos anymore. I always forget that people will just randomly quit one day haha.

Your books have gotten so much more solid over the last two years, as a reader I really see a lot of improvement in your writing and it gets me so hyped for the next project that you’re going to work on whether it’s the Marionettes or whatever it may be. I feel like book reading as a whole changed so much this last year with BookTok and just the social influence around reading as a whole. I’m still constantly surprised you haven’t blown up yet. I’m so glad you made this video for Future Katie and I can’t wait to see what your journey holds for you this year!
PS …I want to see more of the Pact series…I can definitely tell how much that series means to you. I will say I’ve can’t believe The Pact series hasn’t blown up with the whole New Adult and Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers and other tropes being MASSIVE right now. I think they’ll have their time so please don’t be hard on yourself. I know it’s hard, especially when those books are your babies. I think their time is coming❤️

This past year has been rough. The only books I've sold weren't really books. They were shorts that I published secretly. However, I am really, really trying to write a novel. It's like I really want that badge of honor, like "I wrote a novel!" Even if nobody else knows it was me, I want to be able to tell myself that I wrote one. Is that narcissistic?

I love the marionettes, I have actually been saving the second one to read for a reward for myself after finals lol. I have a count down going not only to be done with this term in college but to read the next book! (4 days!)
