We only have one life, but through books we get to live thousands. I don't think any amount of money could get me to give that up.

My dad read the newspapers and to us at night but didn't have time for fiction. When he was 83 he was on dialysis and we read the Martian. He said now I get why you read so much. He died a year later but I was so happy he had books in the end so "he could think and talk about more than just how he was feeling." Andy Weir is my favorite author just because of this.

There is no amount of money, that could make me stop reading. Honestly I wouldn't even know what to do with that money if I couldn't buy books and read them :)

I don't think any amount of money would make me never read a book again. I think I would feel so lonely without books

One of my favorite things about buying books from thrift stores and library sales is getting books I would never have given a shot otherwise. So much fun scouring the shelves for books known and unknown.

I love when asked this question. I own 3000 paperbacks, 4500 hardbacks and 1300 Barnes & Noble Nookbooks (ebooks) on my iPad. I own a 4 bedroom house with two bedrooms dedicate to book storage. I keep every book I have ever purchased. That includes my first book purchase “Three Billy Goats gruff” which I bought in the 3rd grade (1968). As you can see, I have been buying and reading books rapidly approaching 55 years.

BTW, the Robert Jordan “Wheel of Time” series is pretty good.

If I lost my eyesight, I would listen to audiobooks; if I lost my hearing, I would learn braille; if then I lost my sense of touch, I would just end it all. What is life without reading?
Keep the money.

This is a really fun tag! I’m scared to count how many books I own because I know I have well over 1000 (perks of combining my extremely large library with my partner’s when we moved in together 🙈). It’ll take far too long to count them up just for me to feel really embarrassed by how few I’ve read already 😬

No! There's no amount of money that could make me stop reading! That would just be a horrible life for me

This is such a fun tag! So glad I discovered your channel. We have a lot of similar reading and books habits :) And you mentioned so many great books! The Stand was amazing. And my son loves Robert Jordan, Patrick Rothfuss, and Brandon Sanderson - he just finished book 4 of the Stormlight Archive, which is another huge book at 1250 pages. Since you are no longer afraid of longer books, you might be interested in my Big Book Summer Challenge, to help motivate you to read those bigger books you mentioned for this year! Anything over 400 pages counts as a big book, and you have until September to finish one (or two or however many you want). And, no I wouldn't give up reading for anything!

As wealth increases, the happiness attributed to the financial gain quickly reaches a point of diminishing returns. We only need so much money to be utterly taken care of, however the joy and enrichment that can come from reading books has no cap. I could never give that up, not for any amount of money.

Yess! I'm trying to dnf more too! Luckily, I haven't had much chance to put that into practice yet this year

Reading is pretty important to my well being, so it would have to be a lot of money not to do it. I could probably give up books, but audiobooks would be a lot tougher. I don't think I could do it for less than 10 million dollars.

Reading is one of the only things I find enjoyable so I don’t think any amount of money could convince me to stop forever

Truth be told, I'd take a large sum to never read again, but I would probably impulsively buy all the books with it just to have them around me even if I can't read them

Your first post-100k vid! Congrats on reaching the milestone, well deserved for being one of the best booktubers out there!
5:13 I'm the opposite, I use reading as an excuse to procrastinate and put off chores and odd-jobs 🤣 As for your last question: I admit I definitely could be paid not to "read" another book again; there are so many art and photography books out there that I'd enjoy going through without technically reading them 😏
