Yet again where others might come out with a list that spends 10 min saying, "film, sound, and CG" (they probably wouldn't make that connection to TV), Cinefix explains the history, the quirks of technology and their inventors, and most importantly conveys the information in a sincere and excited way which makes the video engaging to watch.

To recap:
"When we made moving pictures actually work"
"When we made sound actually work"
"When we could put it in people's houses"
And yet CineFix did it beautifully as per usual

Why does Clint sound happier when he does Movie Lists?

The tone of his voice in this video is more of pure joy and passion, than the outgoing tasty hoots calling of things you didn't know.

This is crazy insane. The three most important inventions in film history are Gaffer Tape, Duct Tape, and Electrical Tape. Without all three the movie and television industries would come to a halt.

Who needs film school? Channels like this gives aspiring movie makers everything, in theory, they need to make a movie.
Seriously, I almost joined a film school, because wanted to become a director. That would have been the most expensive mistake of my life.
I am studying Politics and History in Germany now, and work at a small film studio part time. I' m specialized in drawing storyboards for commercials, using
techniques I have learned channels like this.

Greetings from Germany.

And the funniest thing in the clip in "Singin' In the Rain" is that "The Jazz Singer" ISN'T a whole talking feature; it's largely a silent film with a few scenes with sound such as musical numbers and a few dialogue scenes.

One day 3D will be the next technological leap when it is finally done correctly. No glasses, no picture dimming, no blurring or stuttering or that obvious stereoscopic layering. It has to be seamlessly integrating into the motion picture adding depth and clarity, not a gimmick that takes you out of the story.

I freaking love Cinefix. You don't have to understand the scientific and technological process to truly appreciate the wonder and beauty of movies. This channel should be better known.

The Steady Cam

A simple yet ingenious device that allows filmmakers to film a scene without the restrictive static view of a tripod and camera rail systems or the shakey and uneven method of filming when simply holding a camera. This allowed for films to show running scenes like the ones from the Rockey and Creed series, the walking scenes that we see in Star Wars, and The West Wing, as well as allowing cameras to move with a scene at different elevations so that directors can show a more intimate scene that in the past.

And number 4: The computer.

Digital video and audio capture, non-linear editing, CGI. The thing that brought us into the Information Age, it also brought cinema to the level it is on today.

Interesting, but can I suggest maybe Top 10 Watershed Films, films that used a new technology, genre, structure, etc. that became a game changer for films that came after?

I’m so glad that at 8:47 you included Titanic from 197 AD, amazing that James Cameron was able to make the movie despite the fact that CGI, cameras, or even the titanic didn’t exist. Truly visionary.
