Before Leonardo da Vinci, a muslim - Abbas ibn Firnas made his first flying machine in the year *875* that was constructed on a frame of bamboo. He covered the bamboo frame with lightweight silk cloth and feather of eagles. The wings of the flying machine were not static, but could be controlled during flight.

I think innovation is important but we need disruptive innovation; we need to think about superconductivity, zero gravity propulsion, wireless energy transfer, space mining these are area the UK needs to diversify its economy. 40 percent of all inventions are British. Smart materials like graphene, can be included in our developing of space technology, IT centres, farming technology and a lot of things. We need now to believe that what we need now is apart of the future.
