The leftist New Popular Front (NFP) grabbed the top spot in the second round of the French legislative election on Sunday in a major upset over the far-right, according to projections. The New Popular Front (NFP) was expected to have 172-215 seats, whereas French President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Ensemble alliance was in second with 150 to 180 MPs. Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally unexpectedly landed in third place with 120 to 152 seats. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, a Macron ally, said he will offer his resignation after the vote.

At least, French political arena has young faces. Look at what we have in the US, dinosaur grandpas are running the country.

Classic Democracy: Vote for who you agree with.
Modern Day Democracy: Vote against the person you disagree.

Nothing will get done in the parliament, one thing is clear French citizens are fed up with the status quo’s and politics as usual

If the parties won't cooperate, Macron can organise a team of technocrats and call another election next year., and the year after that . . . :-)

Hang on…how can he claim to give a voice to “the majority of the electorate” 1:34 with only around 27% of voters (and around 60% turnout)?

Why do you hesitate to call the block far left? Because that's what it is.

UK and France are done, if you haven't left yet then starting planning to leave now will set you with some losses. We in south east Asia have an influx of western done with the unstable country.

So the yellow group decides whether France is left or right of centre.

Macron says: It's for the parties to cooperate to avoid being engulfed in a running dogfight of ideological and partisan conflict ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Come on DW, you surely have enough resources to add a better translation afterwards for this on-demand video.
Please stop using these "live" translations as they are annoying and hard to listen to.
(I don't speak french so I don't know if the comments about the translation being inaccurate is also true. If so it's even worse).
