France looks headed for political instability after a surprise win by a left-wing coalition in Sunday’s legislative election offered no party a path to claim the majority needed to govern. The French electoral system uses the tried and tested divide and conquer strategy to divide and weaken French voters as and when required by it's ruling/ political class designers to retain their power and control. Hopefully the French people eventually achieve the necessary cohesion to break free of this contrived ruling/political class entrapment. The same is true (albeit in less complicated forms) In the UK and the U.S.

I am from Canada, and seeing over 200 candidates that could have been in the second turn, retiring themselves from the race, feels like the election was manipulated by the candidates. Not really fair for the people.
