How to reset your Nest × Yale Lock

Performing a factory reset on the Nest × Yale Lock is a little complex. We'll walk you through the entire reset process. Then you'll need to connect it to the Nest app again to use your lock and set passcodes.

A reset will restore factory settings and remove any passcodes you had previously.

This video is soooo much more informative than the instructions that came with the lock. the lock instructions say to just hold the reset button for 3 seconds and install the batteries.

For how often this lock just forgets it's setting and needs to be reset this is way too much, there should have been a reset button under the battery cover

Glad to know- I bought a used front door for my house and this lock came with the door. I'm not really interested in getting Nest and was going to pitch the thing in favor of a conventional deadlock, but maybe I'll keep it.

I did exactly as the video says because it lost connection with the wifi.Problem is it won't relock the door motor turns the lock Had to do the reset all over again FINALLY got it to work after 3 hours.

Google and Nest products are just awful when you need to do something as simple as change a wifi password. You should't have to factory reset devices and lose all of your settings to make these simply changes! All of the other manufacturers make it easy, so what is going on over there at Google?

I called yale support and one of their representatives attempted to verbally guide me through these steps but the agent gave me incorrect steps. I should have just watched this video. Don't bother calling support. They are useless. Just return the item. Don't waste your time calling.
