There are a range of fault codes that indicate an issue with your secondary air pump system. The fault code and the fault meanings are listed below:

P0410 – Secondary Air Pump System
P0413 – Secondary Air Pump A Open
P0414 – Secondary Air Pump A Shorted
P0418 – Secondary Air Pump Relay A
P2432 – Secondary Air Pump Circuit Low
P2433 – Secondary Air Pump Circuit High
P2441 – Secondary Air Pump Valve 1 Stuck Closed
P2444 – Secondary Air Pump 1 Stuck on B1

Very useful and detailed video, thanks! My 13 WRX EJ255 has the RH "secondary air combination valve" mounted on the RH head underneath the intake manifold, so it's a bit tricky to get to. Based on the diagram, the RH valve has the barometer on my model.

I was able to remove, disassemble, and clean the LH air pump valve since it was getting stuck closed. But I'm still getting a code for the bank 2 valve getting stuck, which I would assume is the RH valve? I'm wondering if I can just unclip the air pump duct and spray some carb cleaner into the RH valve so I don't have to remove the whole intake manifold assembly!

Am I able to just clean my air pumps and the electrical areas? Or must I get them replaced? And what about the pipes?

Is it possible one of the failed air injectors on 2006 Subaru WRX TR stuck open and it leaks the oil burnt smell?
I had issue with air pump and injectors few years ago. I use Tactrix to remove the codes and has no issue since until now, when car is warm and especially with heater on, I feel the oil burnt smell inside the cabin. Or it sounds like some other issue? Thanks in advance!

wait, so just to be clear; you can safely ignore the CEL for the secondary air pump (and keep driving) as its function is.. nothing but essentially cheating on emission tests?

Hi my wrx Hawkeye was running fine but decided on changing plugs as good maintenance took on test drive straight after and EML light came on with code p2444 saying secondary air pump, malfunction now has a hesitation on acceleration any ideas please

My 2009 wrx is set up differently from this, and I have had a LH valve stuck shut code for years, I’ve replaced the driver side valve with a factory OEM valve and the code is still persistently reoccurring, any suggestions? Did I replace the wrong valve?
