The biggest wow effect isn't just ETS2 itself, but how beautiful and content rich a game can get if it's beeing developed constantly and not dropped somewhat 2 years after the initial release. I think that's what's missing in alot of the modern gaming industry.

The skybox and HDR style of the first versions of ETS2 look like you're in a dream, but looks very cool in my opinion. I wonder if it would be possible to replicate in the latest version of the game.

the bloom effect on the older versions was developped to hide those imperfections (light signal, brake lights etc.)and make the game look "realistic"

I still have an old ETS2 1.8 installation from 2013 along side with current version. Sometimes I like to relive playing ETS2 of those old days in my old G25 steering wheel!

Man, I miss the old Truck Dealers it was so much cooler

They literally just dropped an update with adaptive cruise control and emergency braking. This is the only game I know that actually listens to its community, and is fully committed to the game

I wish they could add an option to choose between the original and the new lighting system in the graphics options. I really liked the old lighting and HDR effects specially the dawn and dusk lighing effects.

i am one week into this game and i already have 22 hours in it, i have never played this genre ever before and now i absolutely love it bought the game and all map expansion, thank you for the demo steam.

So glad they made those changes. The original version was the reason I never played it and completely forgot that I even owned it at all. It casued me to have pretty negative memories of the game overall for many years. Stumbled back in randomly about 2 years ago and haven't put it down since.

and ETS2 in 2023 looks like a fully developed city

My last game was is between 2015-2016 and damn that's the best day of my life. When i go home from school and start playing it on my father laptop i didn't remember the layout still like 2012 or not but when i start playing it again on my laptop Feb 2023 damn all my memories flowing back to me

I liked the old Scania truck, which had the black plastic part on the sides (side windows). Now there is not even that customisation option where one can choose whether to put the plastic part or not.
