How To Patch Your MicroKorg XL Steps!
1. Pick the patch genre which you would want to choose to overwrite
2. Once selected turn first knob on the right panel to full page edit
3. Using Second Knob scroll to utility find InitProg
4. To initialize press write and using the third knob scroll to yes
5. Now you have your patch set using knob 2 scroll to common
6. using know two scroll to assign
7. using knob 3 scroll to mono 1
8. using knob 2 scroll to pitch
9. Using knob 2 scroll to portamento
10. using Kbow 3 set portamento between 0 -5 (If you want zero skip to save!)

How To Save Settings On MicroKorg XL Steps!
1.Using Knob 1 scroll to full edit
2.Using Knob 2 scroll to GLOBAL
3.Using Knob 3 Scroll to PROTECT
4. Save GLOBAL press write
5. Using knob 3 scroll yes
6. press write again to save
(TO SAVE PROGRAM REPEAT THESE STEPS BUT INSTEAD OF USING GLOBAL USE KNOB 2 TO SWITCH TO PROGRAM!)

@Loki9689 Yes unfortunately there are no open banks you can use, if you want the original sound there is and option to reload all the preloaded data!

only recently purchased this synth....being new to the midi style synths (as my last keyboard synth i had was a Roland Juno 106 over 16 yrs ago) it has been quite a learning curve for me....was able straight away to create great sounds but could not get them to save....from your video here i managed it straight away so thanks a lot pal, you've saved me a lot of frustration lol
now if you have any helpful advice in linking it up to Korgs XL sound editor i would be most grateful....cheers

Maybe you should mention the fact that you're using an actual talkbox. A lot of people think you're using the vocoder, which doesn't sound as clear.

@Foals4Life Ok did you make sure you selected to un protect your files what product are you using? if youre using a korg r3 software for you microkorg xl it wont work, also once you go in to the utilites it should say un portect and one you do that select the save patch, and it will save you sounds from the computer to you korg, ALSO YOU MUST HAVE MIDI OR USB CABLE PLUGGED IN TO DO THIS I WILL HAVE A VIDEO TUTORIAL NEXT WEEK ON HOW TO DO SO.

Do you know if there's like a "safety lock" that prevent you from alter anything, if you accidentally change the 3 parallel right side knobs? Thank you!

When you save a patch, how do do you know if you do not delate the presets ?
